Hamzeh Serhan shot to death in Ottawa

Ottawa police and paramedics responded to reports of gunshots in the 1500 block of Caldwell Avenue on September 20th at 3:20pm.

Emergency crews arrived to find 20 year old Hamzeh Serhan suffering from a gunshot wound. Serhan was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he died of his injuries.

Police are asking for help from the public. Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to call the Ottawa Police Major Crime Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.

Ottawa woman murdered by her son

Ottawa police were called to 85 Range Rd on Friday August 18th at 5:30 am on report of a disturbance.

Police arrived at the building to find Steven Mair 29, distressed in the hallway. Mair lead police to a room where an elderly woman was found dead in the Sandy Hill apartment.

Steven Mair, the deceased son has been arrested. The victim has been identified as Rachelle Mair.

Murder charge laid in the March suspicious death of a 35 year old woman

Ottawa police were called to a Burnside Road address after a 35 year old woman was found deceased in her apartment back in March 2017. Her death was initially considered suspicious and has now been deemed a homicide.

Ottawa police have issued a press release with the victims name, however it has been stated that her name is under a publication ban..

Mohamad Barkhadle, 31, was arrested by police on July 26th. Barkhadle first-degree murder in the death of the woman.

Ottawa police believe the death of Abdulrahman Al-Shammari & Dirie Olol are connected

Ottawa police responded to the Queensway Carleton Hospital on July 24th at approximately 7 am on report of a man with a gunshot wound. That man remains in hospital in stable condition.

Shortly after that report police responded to the area of Elmhurst Park in the city’s west end. Police arrived to find Abdulrahman Al-Shammari, 26, deceased. Al-Shammari died of a a gunshot wound.

At approximately noon, police received a report of an abandoned vehicle located in the city’s west end.  On arrival police located the vehicle, with a deceased male inside. The victim was identified as Dirie Olol, 27. Police said Olol also died of a gunshot wound.

Update July 26
Ottawa police have issued a Canada wide warrant for Alam Gabriel Buoc (pictured below) in relation to the homicides of Abdurahman Al-Shammari and Dirie Olol. Buoc is wanted on two charges of First-degree murder, and one of Attempted murder.

Buoc is described as lack male, 6’4” (193cm), 201 lbs (91 kg), thin build, with short black hair.

Update July 28
Alam Gabriel BUOC, 30 of Ottawa, has been arrested. Police said that Buoc was arrested in the late evening of Thursday July 27th. Buoc if facing two charges of first-degree murder and one of attempted murder.

Ashton Dickson shot to death in Ottawa’s 5th homicide of 2017

Ottawa police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Rideau Street and Augusta Street on Monday June 26th, at approximately 1am.

Police located the victim, Ashton Dickson, 25 of Ottawa, suffering from serious injuries. Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide Suspect Killed by Ottawa police in shootout

Ottawa police responded to the intersection of Dalhousie and Clarence streets, June3rd,  shortly after 2 am on report of a man injured in a shooting.

The man had non life threatening injuries  and id expected to survive.

Moments after the initial shooting another, victim was shot. Terrence Phillips 43, was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The first officer on scene chased suspect into a parking garage, where the two exchanged several rounds of gunfire. The suspect was shot and died at the scene, the officer was not injured.

SUI is in their early stages of the officer related shooting.

Update: Ottawa’s third homicide of 2017: Ahmad Afrah dies from possible fall from a high rise building

Ottawa Police responded to a  disturbance call in the 400 block of MacLaren Street on May 15th at approximately 10:50pm. Paramedics were also dispatched to the same address on a medical call.

Emergency crews arrived to find Ahmad Afrah, 19 lying on the ground,. It is believed that Afrah had possibly fallen from a high rise building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Liban Gure, 29 years old, has been charged with Manslaughter and aggravated assault.

Update May 19th
Canada wide warrants have been issued for Daniel Jean Charles, 20, and two minors, a 16 year old female and a 16 year old male.

Update May 28th
On May 26th the 16 year old girl turned herself into police.  The 16 year old male is still wanted as well as 20 year old Daniel Jean Charles (pictured above).

Update August 11th
Daniel Jean Charles, and a 16-year-old boy were both arrested in Toronto earlier this week. Jean Charles and the boy have been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault in relation to the death of Ahmad Afrah.

Update: Ottawa man dies in early morning stabbing

Ottawa police are investigating their first homicide of 2017, after receving a medical call at around 5:30 am February 2nd.

Police arrived at the scene, a home at the 1100 block of Joseph Cyr Street to find a 24 year old man suffering from a life threatening stab wound.

The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The victim’s name will be released after his next of kin is notified.

Update February 3

The victim has been identified as Brian Boucher, 24. Boucher had been stabbed in the neck, and was sent to hospital for emergency surgery where he died from his injuries.

Police have issued a Canada wide warrant for the arrest of Awale Hussein 23 has been issued. Hussein is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of his friend Brian Boucher.

Update February 8th
Awale Hussein turned himself in to police on Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 9, 2017
