Brian Scollard dies in Ottawa hospital

Ottawa police responded to a 911 call reporting an injured man  in the 1 – 100 block of Covington Place on March 28th at approximately 9:10pm.

Police arrived to find Brian Scollard, 36, of Ottawa, suffering from serious injuries. Scollard was rushed to hospital he succumbed to his injuries. The cause of death has not been released. Ottawa police have stated that the homicide was not fire arms related.

Police had one man in custody, however he has since been released.

Ottawa police make arrest in homicide investigation of Kalen Bryan-Bradley

Frontline officers attended the shopping mall for a suspicious incident complainant on March 4th at approximately 10:00pm.

Police arrived to find one man with injuries, and another man dead in a vehicle from an apparent stab wound. The victim has been identified as Kalen Bryan-Bradley 22, of Ottawa.

Miles Krzyzewski, 25, has been charged with second degree murder.

Maria Desousa allegedly murdered by her son and his girlfriend

Ottawa police were called to investigate a suspicious death after 81 year old Maria Desousa was taken to hospital on February 10th.

Police said Desousa had already died before she was taken to the hospital. Desousa’s injuries were inconsistent with what was said to be a fall and that the cause of her death was a homicide.

Paulo Desousa, 40, and Danielle LeBlanc, 36, Maria Desousa’s son and his girlfriend have been charged with first degree murder.

Ottawa homicide #5 – Egal Daud found dead in a car

Ottawa police said Egal Daud, 30, was found dead in a vehicle on Northview Road on Sunday, February 11, at approximately 10am.

Little information has been released at this time. Police said Daud died of a gunshot wound, and that it is unknown if the shooting occurred at the location where Daud was found.

Safaa Marina shot to death by her husband before turning the gun on himself

Ottawa Police Service received a 9-1-1 call for service to the 100 block of MacFarlane Road on February 4th at approximately 1:30am on report of a man and woman being shot.

Police arrived to find Safaa Marina 53, and Touni Marina 54, deceased at the scene. Police said Safaa died of a gunshot wound, and Touni died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Police are calling the death of the couple a Murder / Suicide.

Adam Perron shot to death in Ottawa

Ottawa police responded to report of a shooting in the 100 block of McLeod Street, on January 18th at approximately 6:00am.

Police found the victim, Adam Perron, 22, suffering from life threatening injuries at the scene. Perron was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Nicholas Hickey dies after being struck by a vehicle, second degree murder charges laid

Ottawa police have laid charges in the pedestrian motor vehicle fatality that occurred on January 17th at approximately 8:30pm.

Police said 17 year old Nicholas Hickey was rushed to hospital in life threatening condition where he succumbed to his injuries.

Guillermo Escobedo-Hoyo, 37, was arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Ottawa’s first homicide victim of 2018 – Tarek Dakhil dies from gunshot wounds

Ottawa police responded to a report of gunshots in the 3300 area of Paul Anka Drive on January 9th at approximately 8:30 pm.

Police located Tarek Dakhil, 23, in medical distress. Dakhil was rushed to Ottawa Hospital by paramedics where he died of his injuries.

Ottawa homicide 14 – Keith Fitzsimmons dies of a gunshot wound

Ottawa police and paramedics responded to report of a man in cardiac arrest on Frechette Street at approximately 3:00am on December 23rd.

On arrival paramedics determined that the man had been shot, and rushed him to hospital where he died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as Keith Fitzsimmons, 50.

A youth who can not be named has been charged with first degree murder. Sébastien Lafleur, 21, was charged with forcible confinement, uttering threats and several firearms charges.

Ottawa homicide #14 – Zakaria Iqbal stabbed to death

Ottawa police responded to a disturbance call in the 200 block of Montreal Road. on November 27, at approximately 9:30 pm.

Police were advised that an altercation had occurred and that people had been stabbed. Zakaria Iqbal, 18,  was found without vitals and was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
