Kayla Sullivan stabbed in the back in the ByWard Market district

Police were called to George and Cumberland streets near the Salvation Army on report of a fight at around 4:30pm, October 14th.

Kayla Sullivan 30 was found at the scene, suffering from a stab wound to the lower back. Sullivan was rushed to hospital where she underwent emergency surgery, however she died of her injuries early October 15th.

Peter Herauf, 37, was arrested in Gatineau and charged with first degree murder.

Kayla Sullivan is Ottawa’s 15th homicide of 2016.

Jarryl Hagley 17, shot to death in Toronto

Toronto police were called o 1937 Weston Road on report of a shooting in a restaurant. Police arrived to find 17 year old Jarryl Hagley suffering from a gunshot wound.

Hagley was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

It was reported that a gunman entered the establishment, started shooting in the direction of Hagley who was just eating with friends.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Paul Worden at 416-808-7400 ext. 7-7382.

Jarryl Hagley is Toronto’s 54th homicide of 2016.

Update – Mitch Paquette stabbed to death in Ottawa

Ottawa Police were called to a row-house on Rosenthal Avenue on October 6th at around 6:15pm on report of a stabbing.

Police arrived to find Mitch Paquette 55, with a serious wound. Paquette was rushed to hospital where he died of his injury. Neighbors said they had head several adults and children yelling outside before the stabbing happened.

Police have not released the name of the suspect at this time, but they do have a person of interest.

UPDATE – October 8th

Daniel Adjetey-Nelson 34 turned himself in to Ottawa Police on the morning of October 8th. Adjetey-Nelson is known to police and is facing a first degree murder charge in the death of Mitch Paquette.

Hamilton at 12 homicides after the stabbing death of Marcel Chartrand

Hamilton police were called 526 King Street East at around 12:30am on October 6th on report of a stabbing. Police arrived to find Marcel Chartrand 31, outside the home with a serious stab wound.

Chartrand was transported to Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Robert Vandyk 33, who had been staying with Chartrand and his family has been charged with second degree murder.

Update: Maninder Singh Sandhu shot to death at his workplace in Toronto, arrest made in Surrey BC

Police were called to BTI Cartage on October 1st at around 2:40 in the morning on report of an injured man. Police arrived to 325 Humber College Blvd to find the victim, Maninder Singh Sandhu 31, with obvious gunshot wounds.

Singh Sandhu was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police are looking for surveillance footage of the area in order to locate the assailant.

Update October 6th

Toronto police are asking for the public’s help in nabbing Pardeep Chouhan 34, who is wanted in the shooting death of Maninder Singh Sandhu. Police say Chouhan is 6 feet tall, black hair and a scar beside his right eye. If you know where Chouhan may be or if you see him call 911. Police have advised not to approach him, as me may be armed and dangerous.

Update October 8th

Pardeep Chouhan of Brampton Ontario, was arrested by RCMP in Surrey BC, October 7th. Chouhan will be accompanied to Toronto by toronto police where he will face a second degree murder charge.


UPDATE: Man found dead in Mississauga condo garage

Mississauga police responded to report of an injured man on September 28th at around 1:10pm. The male victim was found with obvious trauma, however the police did not elaborate on what type of trauma.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

September 30

Police have identified the victim as Nam Huu Pham 31, of Toronto.

Update October 5th

The autopsy conducted confirmed that Nam Huu Pham’s cause of death was a stab wound. Police arrested  a 26 year old man in connection to the death,  he is facing a first degree murder charge.

Abdi Jamma shot multiple times in Ottawa

Ottawa police responded to report of a shooting behind a plaza on Shillington Avenue at around 6am September 25th.  Police did not find a victim at the scene, however they received a call shortly after stating that a man with gun shot wounds had been dropped off at Royal Ottawa Hospital Mental Health Hospital.

The staff there performed CPR until the ambulance arrived and transported Abdi Jama 26, to Ottawa Civic where e died of his injures.

Jacob Thompson, dies from a gunshot wound in Ottawa

Ottawa police were called to an Elmira Drive complex at around 2am on September 24th on report of a shooting. Police arrived to find 40 year old Jacob Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Thompson was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police have no suspects at this time.

Update September 30th

Brianna Kennedy 20, and Geneva Kennedy 39, are both facing charges of accessories to murder after the fact.

UPDATE: Anthony Brake, Suspect in Toronto homicide arrested in Halifax for the death of David Brenner

Emergency crews were dispatched to the area Davenport and Old Weston Roads on report of an injured man, on September 22, at around 2:30pm.

Paramedics treated the man for severe head trauma, however he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was blunt force trauma.

On Saturday September 24th police released a photograph of the suspect, Anthony Brake 46 of Toronto. Det. Robert North released information that authorities received a call Sunday September 25th at around 1am that Brake was in a home in Halifax. Brake was arrested and is facing second degree murder charges in the death of the 47 year old man.

Toronto police released the name of the victim as David Brenner 47.
