A Domestic assault takes the life of Leslie Moonias

Thunder Bay Police were called to a home on McKellar Street on September 8th on report of an unresponsive male found on the lawn of a home. Police arrived to find 20 year old Leslie Moonias dead at the scene.

Police have not released the cause of death, however they did say Moonais suffered visible trauma and that the death was domestic related.

Kirsten Faith Wesley 20, has been arrested and is facing a charge of second degree murder of her boyfriend Moonias.

6 year old Sarah Stachow & her mother Peria Stachow found dead in Whitby

The bodies of Sarah and Peria Stachow were found by police September 2nd,  allegedly after Peria failed to report to a court hearing.

Police would not confirm weather or not the deaths of 6 year old Sarah Stachow and her mother Peria Stachow 44 was a murder suicide, but did say they are not looking for any suspects.

An autopsy was competed, however the cause of death will not be released.

Peggy Ann Smith 61, shot to death in Toronto

Toronto police responded a call of shots fired at a Riverdale area townhouse complex at around 6:15 on August 27th.

Officers found 61 year old Peggy Ann Smith in the ally way suffering from a gun shot wound. Paramedics said the Smith was declared dead at the scene.

Police are looking for two men who were seen fleeing the scene on foot, heading north towards Dundas street East.

The death of Peggy Ann Smith is Toronto’s 48th of 2016.

UPDATE: 3 people dead in Scarborough crossbow shooting

Scarborough police responded to reports of a stabbing on Thursday August 25th , only to arrive to find 3 people dead in a garage of a home.

Two men and a woman were found with crossbow bolt  injuries, and the weapon near by. Paramedics said the two men and the woman were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth victim suffered minor injuries and is being held in custody by police.

Brett Ryan, 35 Was arrested August 25th and is facing three charges of first degree murder. The names of the victims have not been released.

**UPDATE** August 29

Police have released the cause of death of the three victims. The man found in the garage died of a cross- bow bolt stab wound to the neck. The second man who was found in the driveway dies of a single “arrowhead” stab wound to the neck. The woman was strangled to death.

The names of the victims  are under a court-ordered publication ban at this time.

**UPDATE** August 30th

The publication ban has been lifted and the victims have been named as Brett Ryan’s mother and two brothers, Susan Ryan, 66, Christopher Ryan, 42, and Alexander Ryan, 29.

UPDATE : Afternoon shooting in Toronto takes the life of John Ignagni

Toronto Police responded to reports of a collision on King Street West at around 12:15 in the afternoon on August 21st. Police arrived to find a male victim dead,with gunshot wounds near a motorcycle.

Cst. Victor Kwong said that the shooting happened in an underground parking garage on Crawford Street.

**UPDATE** August 22
Police have identified the victim of what is thought to be a targetted attack as John Ignagni 33.

Police are looking for a white male who was seen leaving the area on a bicycle, wearing a dark bicycle helmet.

The death of John Ignagni is Toronto’s 44th homicide of 2016.  You can find Toronto’s 2016 homicide list here.

 

*Update* Charges laid: Partial torso found in a bag behind Toronto Butcher shop

Toronto police said employees at Charlie’s Meat and Seafood found the remains at around 11:30am on April 19th.  The remains were found inside a rubber garbage bin behind the shop.

The partial torso found was not in an advanced state of decomposition, leaving the coroner to believe it had only been there for a few hours.  Police said the remains are of a light skinned woman.

An autopsy is underway, authorities hope it help solve the mystery of what might have happened to the victim.

**UPDATE**

Police have released the identity of the woman whose partial torso was found behind a Toronto butcher shop.  The woman, Melissa Cooper 30 of Toronto was reported missing several weeks before her body was found.

Albert Ian Ohab 38, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with one count of indignity to a dead body.

Police have charged Albert Ian Ohab with second degree murder in the death on Melissa Cooper.

**UPDATE**Hit and run that took the life of Steven Doyle, being investigated as a homicide

On Monday August 15th at around 5:45 pm, Steven Doyle, 27, was deliberately struck by a vehicle on the west side of George Street, The driver of a blue Dodge Caravan drove on to the side walk and hit Doyle.

Steven Doyle was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are looking for the driver. He is said to be slim,  between 5’8 to 5’10”, with dark-brown shoulder length hair and glasses.

UPDATE -August 24

Ayubullo Mohammad-Daud 21, was arrested today and charged with first degree murder in the death of Steven Doyle.

Omar Rashid-Ghader shot to death inside Ottawa nightclub

Omar Rashid-Ghader 33 was the victim of a fatal shooting at Sentral Nightclub in Ottawa’s ByWard Market August 14th. An officer that was near the scene saw people running out of the club and saying that somebody had been shot.

Paramedics arrived at the club and tried to treat Rashid-Ghader for multiple gunshot wounds, however he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking Mustafa Ahmed 33 in connection to the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 613-236-1222 extension 5050.
