Joseph Anzolona and Cynthia Mullapudi Shot to death outside Scarborough LCBO

Police said Joseph Anzolona 26, was returning from the store and getting into the back seat of the vehicle when the suspect shot him at close range around 9:50pm April 29th.  Cynthia Mullapudi 24, who was in the back seat with Anzolona was also shot and killed.

The two people in the front seat of the vehicle were unharmed.

May 3: Toronto police have arrested and charged a 24 year old man in connection with the double homicide. His name has not been released and charges are pending.

Cindy Torbar stabbed to death in Peterborough

52 year old Cindy Torbar, mother of two was stabbed multiple times in the back, in her home on March 19th by a 25 year old student who was renting a room in her home. She died shortly after arrival of the police

Police were called to the home just before midnight on a report of a stabbing. On arrival Police found the knife wielding man,  and shots were fired. The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his wounds. Charges will be laid once the man is stable.


April 20th
John Lai 25, who was renting a room at Torbar’s home while attending post-secondary school, is now charged with murder however the Crown has not yet determined the degree.

Jenna Gazzola found dead in her Hamilton Apartment

Police were called to 100 Forest Ave on April 18th after the building superintendent saw Jenna Gazzola’s dog wandering the hallway outside her unit. Police arrived to find Jenna Gazzola 34, dead in her unit.

Police said there were signs of forced entry and a struggle.

Jenna Gazzola was a teacher,  and daughter of Guelph police officer Marino Gazzola, lived only doors away from the accused.  Shane Shakeshaft, 27, has been charged with first degree murder.

Police said that there is no connection between the Shakeshaft and Gazzola other than the fact that they were both tenants in the same building.

Julio Cesar Soto found dead in a fire pit

Police received a call on April 9th at around 10 a.m about a fire in Northwood Park in Toronto.

Officers arrived to find a body of a man in the fire pit. Investigators are focusing on trying to identify the man.

Police believe the homicide was targeted and the body was burned to conceal his identity.


Toronto police have identified the man found dead in a North York fire pit through DNA testing as Julio Cesar Soto 29.

Gail Doreen White murdered by her step son

Officers responded to a report of a death at a residence in Roslin ON, on April 16th. Police found the deceased body Gail Doreen White, 56.

John Masson White 38, Gail’s stepson was arrest at the scene. John White has been charged with first degree murder.

Police said the investigation in ongoing and the cause of death will be determined by autopsy.

Drive by shooting leaves Abdullah Farah, 20, dead

Police received calls about the sound of gunshots around 1:30 a.m on April 17th coming from a moving vehicle.  When police arrived they found the victim, 20 year old Abdullah Farah, without vital signs between two cars in front of 1530  Danforth Ave.

Farah was rushed to Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

1530 Danforth Ave is the home Cloud 9 cafe, a cafe that has had it’s share of violence in the past.

2013, a Markham firefighter died after he was stabbed repeatedly in the face. The cafe was under the name of Rotana Café at that time.

2015, Abdiweli Mohamed Yusuf was gunned down in the doorway of the Rotana Café.

Aerlaena Smith, Michael Milroy and James Milroy dead in Stoney Creek shooting

Hamilton police responded to a report of a shooting at 33 Valrose Dr. in Stoney Creek on Saturday April 16th. Police arrived to find three  dead and one injured at the residence.

The victims have been identified as Aerlaena Smith 19,  Michael Milroy 32 and James Milroy 37. The mother of the tow Milroy men, a 69 year old woman was also transported to hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Still unclear of who did the shooting, however Hamilton Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are not seeking any suspects.


Police have said that James Milroy shot his girlfriend Aerlaena Smith and brother Michael Milroy before turning the gun on himself. The gun was registered to James Milroy.


April 27: Sang Ju (Gina) Milroy died on April 27th after spending nearly 2 weeks in hospital in critical condition after being shot by her son James Milroy 37.

Gabriel Nikov 18 killed at Yonge and Bloor Targeted attack

Toronto police officers we dispatched on reports of a shooting on April 14th at around 8pm at Yonge and Dundas square in Toronto. When they arrived, they found the wounded male victim unresponsive in front of a coffee shop.

Gabriel Nikov 18, was rushed to a local trauma centre and was pronounced dead later that night.

Police said that this was a targeted attack, and are looking for three suspects. Three white males,  one wearing a white jacket, the second man wore a baby blue jacket and the third had on a black jacket.

Bradley Cheveldayoff, 22, was arrested April 17th and charged with second-degree murder.

Daniel John Lypka murdered by a long time friend

Toronto Police were called to the scene on Vanevery Street near Royal York Road and Lake Shore Boulevard on reports of a shooting.

Police arrived to find Daniel John Lypka 28, who had been shot at close-range in a parking lot of a building at around 2:45am April 14th. Lypka was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Tre Williams Robert Stevens, 21, a long time friend of Lypka, was arrested around 4pm on April 15th and is facing charges of second degree murder. Police said a suspect in the shooting was identified by information provided by community members.


Christina Voelzing shot Easter Sunday

Algonquin College student Christina Voelzing 24, was shot at her home in Bells Corners on March 27, at around 5am.  Voelzing was found unresponsive after neighbours heard gunshots.

She was rushed to hospital and sent into surgery for a gunshot wound to the neck, Voelzing remained on life support and was not expected to survive.

Voelzing succumbed to her injuries early morning on March 30th.

Police believe the shooting was targeted but are unsure if Voelzing was the target or one of the other people living at the address.

No arrests have been made at this time.


Behnam Yaali, 23, was arrested on April 15th, only hours after Ottawa police announced that he was wanted for the second-degree murder of Christina Voelzing.
