Toronto Homicide 44 & 45 – Two dead after a shooting in Rebel night club parking lot

Toronto Police were called to the parking lot of the popular waterfront night club Rebel, on October 1st at 3:12 am on report of a shooting.

On arrival police located one victim, believed to be in his 20’s without vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim was found in critical condition, and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victims will not be identified until next of kin is notified.

Update October 3
The victims have been identified as Zemarai Khan Mohammed, 26, and Tyler Mclean, 25, both of Toronto.

On Monday October 2nd police obtained a search warrant and arrested Abdirisaq Ali, 23, of Toronto, and Tanade Mohamed, 24, of Edmonton. Both Ali and Mohamed have been charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Hamzeh Serhan shot to death in Ottawa

Ottawa police and paramedics responded to reports of gunshots in the 1500 block of Caldwell Avenue on September 20th at 3:20pm.

Emergency crews arrived to find 20 year old Hamzeh Serhan suffering from a gunshot wound. Serhan was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he died of his injuries.

Police are asking for help from the public. Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to call the Ottawa Police Major Crime Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.

Toronto shooting takes the life of a 54 year old man In the city’s s 40th homicide

Toronto police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Gerrard and River St at approximately 1:20am on September 16th.

Police arrived at the scene to find a 54 year old man dead and another man injured. The injured man was rushed to hospital where he is expected to survive.

No other information has been made available at this time. More to come.

Update September 17th
Police have identified the victim as Everone Paul Mitchell, 54, of Toronto.

Toronto Homicide Victim List 2017

Anthony Soares gunned down in an apartment lobby in Toronto

Toronto police were called to an apartment in the Kennedy Road and Glamorgan Avenue area on report of a shooting on September 14th at approximately 2:54am.

Police and paramedics found 33 year old Anthony Soares suffering from life threatening injuries. Soares was rushed to hospital where he died a short time after arrival.

It is alleged that Soares walked into the building and was approached by two suspects who shot him at close range.

Update: Toronto police have released video footage of the shooting in hopes of identifying the suspect.

Bert Isaac Wood, has been identified as Thunder Bay’s latest Homicide victim

Thunder Bay police received a call to check on the welfare of a man on September 10th at approximately 11:26am at a home in the area of Syndicate Avenue North.

Police arrived to find one man dead and two other people who had been  assaulted.

The deceased has been identified as Bert Isaac Wood, 24. Police said the cause of death will not be released as the matter is now before the courts.

Update September 15th – Accused identity released.
Nazareth Alexander Nelson, 35, was arrested the evening of September 10 and charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and attempted murder.

Yeshudyan Ragbir charged in Toronto’s 38th homicide of the year

Toronto police responded to a report of an unresponsive woman in the area of  Village Greenway and Parkway Forest Drive on September 13th at approximately 4:40 pm.

Police and paramedics found the victim with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yeshudyan Ragbir, 24, was arrested on September 13th and charged with first degree murder.

Police have not released the name of the victim or cause of death.

Homicide investigation underway after a woman’s torso was found near the Oshawa Harbour in Lake Ontario

Oshawa police responded to report of a female torso floating in the Lake in the area of Simcoe Street South and Harbour Road on September 11th at approximately 8:30pm.

Police arrived at the scene where the fisherman found the body part and confirmed that it was a female torso. An autopsy is scheduled for today, September 12th, at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto to determine the cause of death and to identify the victim.

Update September 13th
The results of the post mortem conducted on Sept 12th were inconclusive as far as the cause of death. Police said further testing will be conducted at the Centre of Forensic Sciences.

Update: police release the name of the victim and the accused – Man dies from stab wounds in Hamilton’s 6th Homicide

Hamilton Police responded to a disturbance at the Coco Bongo Lounge in Hamilton at approximately 3:30 am on September 10th.

Police found a man suffering from life threatening wounds. the victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police said the Toronto man was injured as the bar was letting out.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Doug Jonovich of the homicide unit by calling 905-546-4863.

Update September 16th
Police released the name of the suspect after he appeared in court. Samson Aristor 29. Aristor is facing a first degree murder charge in the death of Reald Vercani 33, of Toronto.

Cuhapiryan Mahendrarajah dies in hospital from stab wound in Toronto

Toronto police were dispatched to the area of Danforth Road and Eglinton Avenue East area on September 3rd at approximately 2:12am on a call for assistance.

Police located the victim Cuhapiryan Mahendrarajah, 33, of Toronto suffering from life threatening injuries. Mahendrarajah was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on September 7th.

Prosper Jean Laurent, 18, of Toronto was arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Brantford man charged with manslaughter in drug related death

Brantford police and paramedics responded to an address on Nelson Street to assist with a suspected drug overdose on September 1st at approximately 8:00pm.

A 46 year old man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on September 4th.

Andrew Earl Allison 34 has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, Trafficking a substance (powder cocaine), and Trafficking a substance (powder fentanyl).

It is alleged that the accused trafficked powdered fentanyl and powdered cocaine to the victim.
