Montreal Homicide 22: Darius Brown death being treated as a homicide

Police originally thought Darius Brown died in a robbery gone wrong, but as the investigation progressed it has been revealed the a sharp object played part in the death. The altercation took place on November 17th near the corner of Westminster Ave. and Westover Rd. at around 7:45pm.

Police have not said if the 17 year old boy was stabbed of if he fell on the object, however the death of the teen is being treated as a homicide.

Police apprehended an important witness, on November 18th and are holding him for questioning.

If convicted the Crown is seeking an adult sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 to 25 years.

Eric Yagilashek shot to death in Montreal’s 20th homicide

Montreal police were called to Ramsay St. in Pierrefonds on report of a shooting at around 10:30pm on November 9. The victim Eric Yagilashek 20  is said to have been shot in the upper body.

Police were flagged down by friends of the victim while on route to the hospital. Paramedics rushed the man to hospital where he died of his injuries on November 10th.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Update: Montreal street fight ends in homicide

Police were called to Mayor St on November 3rd on report of an altercation between two groups.

Police arrived to find Jiahao Wu 19, with a stab wound. He was rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injury.

The investigation is now in the hands of the major crimes unit, since the man died of his injuries a few days after the altercation.

Chen Hao Zhang, 25, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Body found in St. Leonard, Montreal’s 18th homicide

A Homicide investigation has begun after Montreal police located a man’s body in a vehicle at around 9:30am on October 31 in an industrial area of St. Leonard.

Police said the investigation has turned over to the major crimes unit. The name of the victim and the cause of death has not been released at this time.

Police identified the deceased as Steven Constantinou 22. According to police, Constantinou had been missing since Oct. 8

Teenager charged in Montreal’s 17th homicide

Montreal Police responded to report of a stabbing at around 11pm on October 29th. Emergency crews arrived to find a 15 year old boy suffering from atleast one stab wound.

The boy was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. According to police a fight broke out with a group of people resulting in the fatal stabbing.

A 16 year old male has been arrested and is facing charges.

Update: Charles Robitaille dies in Downtown Montreal stabbing

Montreal police were called to a hospital after a 26 Charles Robitaille arrived with a stab wound on October 10th at around 3am. Despite life saving efforts the man died from his injuries.

The friends of the victim, who accompanied him to hospital told police he was assaulted at Berri and Ontario streets.

Police have not released the name of the victim, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Update October 12th

Two men have been arrested, Yasar Aykin and Mikael Etienne both 19 years old, have been charged with  first degree murder.

Joseph Sarikakis, victim of a Montreal homicide

Montreal police received a call of multiple gunshots  at around 11:30 am on Thursday. Joseph Sarikakis 45 was found injured while in his car on August 18th in the Montreal borough of Ahuntsic Cartierville.  He was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries.

Bullet casing were found at the scene, however police would not say if the victim was shot.

Two men ages 25 and 27 have been arrested in connection with the death of Joseph Sarikakis

Sarikakis was known to police and had a lengthy criminal record.

Police seeking the help of the public in the death of Sébastie Ross-Blanchette

Sébastie Ross-Blanchette 22, a homeless man in Montreal was assaulted on de la Montagne Street on July 22.  A passerby found  Ross-Blanchette with a serious head injury at around 4am July 22.

Ross-Blanchette was sen to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on August 11th.

Police are looking for three English speaking black men all over 6 feet tall.
