Peel Regional Policehave declared the death of Cheryl McVarish on March 20th a homicide.
On March 20th at around just after 9:00am Mississauga police responded to a medial assistance call on Westmount Avenue. Police found 43 year old Cheryl McVarish deceased outside of the home.
The cause of death has not been released.

Update May 2nd
Police said that Gil DaSilva, 64, was arrested at his Mississauga home on May second. DaSilva has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Cheryl McVarish.
Mississauga police were called to the area of Queen St South and Beech st on several reports of a disturbance at around 4am October 22.
Police found the man that had been shot outside of Streetsville Kinsmen Seniors Centre, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Update October 23
Police have identified the victim as 23 year old Deshawn Brandon Nicholson of Toronto.
Mississauga police responded to report of an injured man on September 28th at around 1:10pm. The male victim was found with obvious trauma, however the police did not elaborate on what type of trauma.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

Police have identified the victim as Nam Huu Pham 31, of Toronto.
Update October 5th
The autopsy conducted confirmed that Nam Huu Pham’s cause of death was a stab wound. Police arrested a 26 year old man in connection to the death, he is facing a first degree murder charge.
Sharmarke Farah 17, of Toronto was shot and killed in front Habibi Lounge, a hookah bar in Mississauga. Police were called to the scene around 1am February 7th, on reports of a large fight in the parking lot of the plaza.
On arrival police found Farah suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way.

Update April 10th 2017
Peel police issued a Canada Wide Warrant for thr arrest of Mohamud Kheyre in relation to the shooting death of Sharmarke Farah. Kheyre is wanted for first degree murder, Kheyre is discribed as Somali decent, dark complexion, 20 years of age, 6’5” feet tall, 200 pounds with a heavy build.

EMT crews found Hamza Lamadani 19, with life threatening stab wounds on Harrowsmith Drive in Mississauga on March 5th just after 2pm. Lemonade was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police said Lamadani was stabbed on Webb Drive, about two kilometres from Harrowsmith Drive.
Mohamed Nasr 19, turned himself into police on March 6th and has been charged with first degree murder.
A 68 year old Mississauga woman was found unresponsive in her home on January 25th, she was pronounced dead on scene.
Police have started an investigation as the death of the woman seems suspicious. An autopsy is scheduled for later in the week.
Police said they were responding to a 911 call to assist a citizen. On arrival they found Serfeal Okubagzi a two year old boy dead in a Mississauga apartment on December 14th. Okubagzi was stabbed by his mother Russom Tesfamar Yordanos.
Police are investigating the possibility that Russom Yordanos may have been suffering from postpartum depression. Yordanos also has a 6 month old daughter that is with the father.
Russom Tesfamar Yordanos was charged Tuesday December 15th with first-degree murder.
Police responded to calls about a domestic disturbance on Southfork Drive, in Mississauga on Oct 24th. On arrival they found Vaishali Patel 41, with life threatening wounds. Patel was rushed to hospital where she later died.
Police have not yet released the nature of the wounds.
Her son 20 year old Kunal Bhavan was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with second-degree murder.
Ronald William Escott 59, of no fixed address, was found dead inside an abandoned home near the Mississauga Valleys area. Police said, Escott’s body, did not appear to have any signs of trauma.
Jason Hamyln, 37, of no fixed address has been charged with second-degree murder. Police say the two knew each-other, and it was not a random attack.
36 year old William Marcel Maassen was found August 7th behind a Mississauga plaza. His cause of death has not been released.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and homicide detectives are asking for your help.
