Winnipeg police were called to a multi family home on Bannerman on July 28th on reports of a shooting. Police arrived to find Kingston Paul 20, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paul was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Erskine Ruggles 61, was arrested on July 29th and has been charged with manslaughter with a fire arm. Ruggles and Paul lived in the same home, Police believe the murder may have been drug related.
Danny Vanoosten 56 was arrested and is facing second degree murder charged after RCMP found a 54 year old woman dead in her apartment on July 19th.
Police said the suspect and the victim were known to each other but did not elaborate further.
The woman’s name and the cause of death have not been released at this time.
59 year old Stanley Benn was found dead in his home by a relative on Friday July 8th. Police would not comment on how Benn dies, but said two people have been arrested in relation to the death.
Steven Lee Gregory, 32, and Lisa Phyllis Bunn, 48, have been charged with manslaughter in the Death of Benn.
Cyril Weenusk, 26, was found injured near Portage Avenue and Donald Street on July 5th at around 4 in the morning. Weenusk was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Cyril Weenusk was a soft-spoken, firefighter and father of four from Oxford House, Manitoba. He had come to Winnipeg to care for his sick father.
Police said that Weenusk was in an altercation that turned violent and fatal. Police are searching for 3 suspects.
A warrant for the arrest of Geordie Douglas Wood of St. Theresa Point, MB, has been issued the charge of second-degree murder in the death of Cyril Weenusk.
Renelle McDougal, 20, of Winnipeg, Geordie Douglas Wood of St. Theresa Point, have been charged with second-degree murder in the deathof Weenusk.
Emergency crews responded to a call of a stabbing on Furby Street, on June 23 at around 3:00am. The victim, James Tucker 45, was rushed to hospital where he died of an upper body wound.
Martin Archie Flett 22, has been charged with second degree murder. Police said there are no indications that the murder was a result of Tuckers past.
It has been confirmed by police that James Tucker went by the name William James Harcus when he was the former head of the Manitoba KKK. He changed his name to James Edsel Tucker in hopes of distancing himself from the group.
On June 20th Pukatawagan RCMP were called to the community nursing station on report of two injured males.
One of the injured died at the scene. The other man is expected to survive.
Leah Castel 19, was arrested on June 20th, and had been charged with second degree murder in the death of the un-named victim, and attempted murder.
Neither the names of the victim’s or the cause of death will be released at this time.
David Sanderson 50, was rescued from a suspicious fire at his home on Aberdeen Avenue in the city’s north end on June 22.
Sanderson was rushed to hospital where he died. Autopsy revealed that Sanderson had sustained injuries before the house fire broke out.
Police are asking for anyone who had contact with David Sanderson on June 21 or 22 to contact them.

Billy-Joe Linklater, 21, and Lorie Knott, 21, were arrested on June 25th and charged with second degree murder, and arson.
RCMP received a call from the Berens River First Nation medical nursing station on June 12th, reporting a young man in medical distress.
RCMP arrived to find Garon Cochrane (who was identified by family and friends) already dead. Family members said he was stabbed in the neck.
A 16 year old boy has been taken into custody and has been charged with manslaughter.
Winnipeg Police were called to the 600 block of Wellington Avenue on May 12 at around 6:30 pm on reports of a shooting. Police arrived to find George Prieston, 29, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Police also found Priestons dog also shot.
Prieston was rushed to Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His dog had to be put down due to the extent of his injuries.
Police said a military style assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine was used in the shooting.
Raymond Ducharme and Shawn Poitra, both 25, have been charged with the first degree murder of George Prieston. Both have also been charged with cruelty to animals in the death of Prieston’s dog.
Nicholas Brophy 19, was last seen September 8 in Thompson a northern Manitoba city. Brophy’s family issued a public plea April 28th for information regarding Brophy and offered a reward $50,000 for his return.
Nicholas Brophy’s body was found April 26 just outside of Thompson.
April 30: Justin Noah Baker, 19, and Zach Edwin Linklater, 22, of Thompson, have been arrested. Both have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the teens death.
The cause of death has not been released.
