update – 19 year old Brittany Bung dead after serious incident in Lac du Bonnet

Manitoba RCMP were called to Highway 502 in Lac du Bonnet, between Highway 11 and Highway 313, at approximately 6:30am on October 3rd.

A 19 year old woman was found in life threatening condition and a 20 year old man was taken into custody.  Police said the investigation will continue and is being treated as a homicide

RCMP have not released any other information at this time.

Update October 4th
Police said the victim called 911 herself at approximately 6:30am. The woman was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Jordan Belyk, of no fixed address, has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the death on the 19 year old Brittany Bung. It has been reported that Balyk was issued probation just the week before for a violent assault.

 

Tyler William Ranville 18, died in hospital of a stab wound

Winnipeg police were flagged down in the area of Sargent Ave. and McMicken St on August 18th at 11:15pm on report of an injured man.

Police found 18 year old Tyler William Ranville suffering from a serious stab wound. Ranville was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on August 27th.

Update September 6th
Winnipeg police said in a release that they have arrested four people in connection to the death of Ranville. Police have arreted Nasim Abddullahi Ahmed, 18,  Yonas Gebremekeal, 18, Abdullahi Jemal Ahmed, 20, and a 16 year old male from Winnipeg. All four  have been charged with manslaughter.

Mustafa Peyawary Winnipeg’s latest homicide victim

Winnipeg police were called to the 100 block of Killarney Ave on August 13th at approximately 10:00pm.

Police arrived to find Mustafa Peyawary, 29, unresponsive and not breathing. Police said Peyawary suffered blunt force trauma to his body, and they believe he was assaulted over a period of time. He was pronounced dead at the scene  by paramedics.

This investigation is still in its very early stages. Information will be added as it becomes available.

Damir Kulic, 27-years-old of Vancouver, B.C and Ahamed Althaaf Ismal, 29-years-old of Edmonton have both been arrested and charged with first degree murder.

17 year old boy charged with the death of a 17 year old in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of Court Ave on August 6th at approximately 3:40 a.m.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a 17 year old male suffering from a stab wound. The boy was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

A 17 year old male was arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Rohn Abraham dies in Winnipeg stabbing

Winnipeg police and emergency personnel responded to a residence in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue on report of an injured male on July 27,  at approximately 7:45pm.

At the scene police found a 31 year old woman and a 29 year old man both suffering from stab wounds. The two victims were rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. The woman has been upgraded to stable condition, Rohn Abraham 29 died of his injuries.

Update: Evan Engbaek 18, found dead in Gimli

According to police, an 18 year old male was found dead on 2nd Avenue, across from the Gimli Theater, on July 24th at approximately 2pm.

A member of the victim’s family identified the victim as Evan Engbaek. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

A person of interest had been arrested but has since been released. Little information has been released to the victims family or the public .

Update July 28th

The 16 year old male suspect has been re-arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Engbaek.

 

 

Update, charges laid: Trevor Bodnarek aka Trevor Desjarlais dies from a gunshot wound in Winnipeg’s latest homicide

Winnipeg police and paramedics responded to the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue for a report of shots fired on July 21, at approximately 10pm.

Police located the victim 27 year old Trevor Bodnaerk aka Trevor Desjarlais, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed Bodnarek to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Update: Winnipeg police have released that they have arrested both Craig Dylan Monkman, 19, and Albert Kelly Thomas, 34, they have been charged with second degree murder in the death of Bodnaerk.

Charge laid in Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation murder

The remains of a 44 year old man had been found by RCMP major crime services on July 1st in Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation. Investigators said the body had been there for at least 10 days before being discovered. The deceased had not been reported missing.

Rylan McKay, 23 of Tootinaowaziibeng has been charged with second-degree murder. The name of the victim and cause of death have not been released. Police said the victim and the accused were known to each-other.

Winnipeg’s 12th homicide of 2017 – Man found covered in blood in Manwin Hotel lobby

On July 16, at approximately 10:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of an injured male, covered in blood in the front lobby of the Manwin Hotel in the 600 block of Main Street.

The unnamed man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Winnipeg police are treating the death as a homicide and ask that anyone with information that may assist investigators  call Winnipeg police at 204-986-6508.

Update July 19th
Winnipeg police have identified the Victim as 50 year old John Blaine Flett.
