UPDATE: Halifax police investigating a sudden death in Clayton Park

Halifax police were called to 36 Montgomery Crescent in Clayton Park on September 17th at 1:38am on report of an injured man.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 20 year old man in serious condition. The man was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later.

A 27 year old man and a 24 year old woman were taken in for questioning but have since been released.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Update September 29th
The Halifax Medical Examiner has confirmed that Sardar Ajmeer Nawabi death was a homicide. The cause of death has not been released, and no charges have been laid at this time.

Josiah Kaelin Sparks found dead in Lake Loon home

RCMP said 22 year old Josiah Kaelin Sparks was found dead in a home on Cherry Brook Rd in Lake Loon on September 15th at approximately 8pm.

Police have not released any information surrounding the death, only saying that it has been ruled a homicide.

Update: Three charged in the death of Nadia Gonzales

On June 16th at around 7:45 pm Halifax Regional Police, including the Patrol, K-9, Emergency Response and Quick Response Units, responded to report of an assault in progress.

Police arrived at the home, located at the 0-100 block of Hastings Drive in Dartmouth‎ to find an injured male with life threatening injuries, he was rushed to hospital and is expected to survive. Police also located an unresponsive woman at the scene. Nadia Gonzales 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Calvin Maynard Sparks 23, has been charged with one count of first degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation. Samanda Rose Ritch 19, has been charged with first degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of recognizance.

Update August 30th

Police arrested Wayne Andrew Bruce, 60, on August 29th  2017 at a Dartmouth home. Bruce is facing a first degree murder charge in the death of Nadia Gonzales

Charge laid in the suspicious death of Chelsie Probert deemed a homicide

Halifax police responded to report of a female in medical distress, on a path near Albro Lake Road, on June 6th at around 10pm.  Police found 18 year old Chelsie Prober in serious condition.

Prober was taken to hospital where she later died. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

A team of volunteers are helping Halifax Regional Police search for evidence.

Halifax police have announced that a youth male who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Chelsie Prober.

Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer shot to death in Halifax

Halifax police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Falkland and Gottingen streets on November 21 at around 10:45pm.

Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer, 22, was found with life threatening injuries, in the drivers seat of an SUV. Keizerwas rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

There have been no arrests at this time.

The death of Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer is the 12th Halifax homicide this year.

Terrance Izzard, Halifax second homicide in three days

Halifax police were called to 2412 Cragg ave on November 14th at approximately 11pm on report of a shooting. Police arrived to find 58 year old Terrance Izzard suffering from life threatening injuries.

Izzard was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The death of Terrance Izzard is the 11th homicide for Halifax in 2016. The total victim’s list is available here.

Shakur Oshay Trevez Jefferies shot to death in Halifax

Halifax police were called to an apartment building at 610 Washmill Lake Dr. on Saturday November 12th on report of a shooting at around 5pm.

Emergency crews arrived to find Shakur Oshay Trevez Jefferies 21 in the parking lot of the building. Paramedics pronounced Jefferies dead at the scene.

Carvel Clayton 21 also known as his rapper persona Certified, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Jefferies.

Carvel Clayton had just released a song about the gun violence in Nova Scotia called ‘Murder (Pray 4 Scotia)’.

UPDATE: Joseph Douglas Cameron shot to death in Dartmouth

March 29th Police responded to reports of shots fired at around 5:30 a.m. They arrived to find Joseph Cameron 20 unresponsive, lying on the sidewalk between Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road.

Police have not named any suspect.

Update July 8th,
Police arrested a 17 year old Nova Scotia teen  in London, Ontario on July 7th. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Joseph Cameron.

Daverico Downey 20 gunned down in North Preston

Halifax Police were called to the scene on April 23, at about 2am on reports of gunshots.  Police found Daverico Downey 20, dead at the scene.

Police said Downey had been shot but they couldn’t confirm if there was a connection between his death and the deaths of Naricho Clayton and Tyler Richards who also died this week.

September 29th

Nova Scotia RCMP arrested a 33  year old woman and a 22 year old man at different addresses on September 29th.  Charges have not been established at this time.
