Calgary police investigating a triple murder – Arrest made

Calgary police responded to  a check on welfare of two residences in Calgary on July 31st. Upon arrival at the first residence in the 2000 block of Applevillage Court S.E., police found a deceased female.

Police arrived at the second residence in the 10100 block of Hidden Valley Drive N.W to find a deceased male and deceased female.

Police say the incidents are related and not random. The Medical Examiner is currently at both scenes.

No Other information can be released at this time.

Update August 2
Dustin Duthie, 25, has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018.

Adam Colquhoun Dies in Calgary Motel Shooting

Calgary police were dispatched to a motel in the 1800 block of 50 Street S.E. for reports an altercation which led to shots being fired on July 28th at approximately 1:00am.

Police arrived to find Adam Colquhoun, 43, of Calgary, suffering from a gunshot wound. Colquhoun was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Update August 2
Ryan Oliver Reid Foster, 37, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Jason Dirks identified as Calgary’s latest homicide victim

Calgary police responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence in the 0-100 block of Margate Place N.E.on June 9th at approximately 1:30 am.

Upon arrival police found Jason Dirks, 46, of Calgary, suffering from  life threatening injuries. Dirks was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police believe the death of Dirks was targeted. The cause of death will not be released at this time.

Craig Cutter dies of stab wounds in Calgary’s latest homicide

Calgary police were called to the 200 block of 15th Avenue S.E. at approximately 2:00am on May 27th on report of a man in medical distress.

Police arrived to find Craig Cutter, 24, suffering from stab wounds. Cutter was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police said the stabbing stemmed from an altercation that escalated.

Joshua Brendan Bamfo and Mahad Abdirahman Ainanshe shot to death in Calgary

Calgary police were called to the 0 to 100 block of Evanscrest Manor N.W., for reports of gunshots on April 20th at approximately 3:10pm.

Police arrived at the scene to find Joshua Brendan Bamfo, 25, and Mahad Abdirahman Ainanshe, 23, of Calgary, deceased in a vehicle. Police arrested a person of interest on April 22, however that person has since been released.

Update: suspect killed by police – Nadia El-Dib found dead in a Marlborough Park backyard

Calgary police were called to the 1000 block of Maitland Drive N.E., after a woman in her 20s was found dead in the backyard of a house, on March 25th at approximately 9:30am.

Police said that evidence at the scene led them to believe the woman’s death is suspicious. An autopsy was performed and revealed that the death of Nadia El-Dib, 22, was a homicide.

Abderrahmane (Adam) Bettahar, 21, is wanted on a Canada wide warrant for the first-degree murder of Nadia El-Dib. Bettahar is described as 6’0” tall, slim build, light skin, brown hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be driving a 2004 dark blue Ford Explorer with the Alberta licence plate BZH 5688.

Update
RCMP said an officer saw a man believed to be Abderrahmane (Adam) Bettahar, at approximately 5:15pm on March 29th. The suspect failed to stop for police, and a pursuit ensued. A spike belt was deployed and the damaged vehicle finally stoped at 6:30pm in the area of Highway 16 at Highway 22, back near Entwistle. Bettahar shot Sgt. Brian Topham who is in hospital recovering frm non-life threatening injuries. Bettahar was then shot and killed by police. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating incident.

Darby Chase Shade Soop found dead in Calgary

Calgary Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of 37 Street S.W. at approximately 10:30 pm, January 16th on  reports of a disturbance.

Police arrived to find several people fleeing what appeared to be a house party. The victim, Darby Soop, 26, was found deceased across the street in the mall parking lot.

 Police are looking oking to speak to Christian Whitebear and Matthew Crane-Watchmaker in relation to the death of Soop.

Newborn baby girl found dead in Calgary parking lot

Police are searching for the mother of a newborn who was left in a parking lot behind the Bownesian Grocer on December 24th between the hours of 3pm and 11:30pm.

Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta said a resident found a deceased baby girl in the area. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
