Surrey police responded to report of a suspicious circumstance in the 17800 block of 64 Avenue, on January 8th at 12:30am.
Police located Shawnn Patrick Cotter, 37, unresponsive. Despite life saving efforts Cotter was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Corporal Meghan Foster of IHIT said “from the evidence gathered so far investigators believe that his death is not random.”

Burnaby RCMP were called to the 6500-block of Telford Avenue on report of a fight in progress on January 2nd, just before 9pm.
Police located the victim, 47 year old Jwada Hedar-Kadhim in medical distress. Hedar-Kadhim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The cause of death has not been released.
“It is early in the investigation, but it does not appear to be a random act,” Cpl. Daniela Panesar said in a release.

Abbotsford’s emergency services responded to the area of Bates Road and Harris Road on report of a possible shooting on December 28th at 2:23pm.
On arrival police located the victim who was later identified as 24 year old Alexander Blanarou. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the shooting was targeted and ask that anyone with information about this incident should call the IHIT Tip Line at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
Penticton RCMP is investigating the city’s 4th homicide of 2017, however police have not released who the victim is or when they died.
Police superintendent Ted De Jager said “There is nothing further to release on this matter. There is no nexus to public safety and the integrity of the investigation outweighs the need to notify the public of the particulars,”

Oak Bay police responded to a “potential incident” at about 5:00pm on Christmas day at a ground floor apartment unit on Beach Drive.
At the scene police located two young girls Chloe, 6, and Aubrey, 4, deceased. Their father Andrew Berry, 43, is in hospital with self-inflicted wounds. Police at this time are not seeking further suspects.
According to reports, the girl’s mother Sarah Cotton called police after her estranged common law husband didn’t return the girls as scheduled on Christmas day.
No further information will be released at this time.
North Vancouver RCMP responded to the discovery of a deceased man who was found in an apartment in the 1500-Block of Fern Street on December 22nd.
The deceased was identified as Gavinder Grewal, 29, of North Vancouver. Grewal was known to police to be involved with gang activities. The cause of death has not been released at this time.
In July 2010, Gavinder Grewal was charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting that killed Mandy Johnson.

Maple Ridge police were called to Kin Park, at approximately 6am on December 22nd on report of shots fired.
The victim, who was known to police died after driving himself to Ridge Meadows Hospital. His name has not been released by police at this time.

Update January 15th
The victim has been identified as Manricco “Ricco” Sansalone, 26.
Nakusp RCMP responded to possible shots being fired at a residence on Needles North Road in the small community of Needles, 5:30 p.m. on December 18th.
Police obtained entry at two separate and neighboring residences where officers located a deceased male at each property. The victims have been identified as Ron Volansky 83 and Roy Bugera 58.
Major crimes detectives are still investigating, but RCMP have said they are not looking for any suspects.
Kelowna RCMP were called to a residence in the Rutland area on December 19th, 2017 at approximately 5pm.
Police arrived to find Clara Soledad Forman, and her two young daughters Karina Anne Forman, and Yesenia Kate Forman dead at the scene. Police have not released the cause of death.
Jacob Forman has been charged with three counts of second degree murder. Forman’s next court appearance is January 18th.
No other information has been released at this time.
San Li Liao was last seen on May 26 in the 14900 block of 54A Avenue. Her vehicle was found at the Guildford Recreation Centre on May 29 in Surrey.
After an extensive search for Liao police believe foul play is suspected in her disappearance have turned the investigation over to the Integrated Homicide Team.
