Update: Joseph Billy Bustinski dead after shooting at Savoy Pub & Hotel

Vancouver Police were called to the Savoy Pub and Hotel at258 E Hastings St on January 27th at around 10:30pm on report of a shooting.  Vancouver P.D said “Officers arrived to find someone had deployed bear spray in the hotel, making it difficult for everyone inside to breathe,”

Police located the victim, Joseph Billy Bustinski, 62, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police administered CPR until Paramedics arrived. Bustinski was rushed to hospital where he died of his injury.

No arrests have been made. police ask anyone with information to call the VPD at 604-717-2500.

This is the first Vancouver homicide of 2017.

Update July 13
Marnie Marie Scow, 29,  turned herself in to police and was charged with manslaughter.

Update July 21
Stephen Farmer 33,  of Vancouver was arrested on an outstanding warrant for second-degree murder in relation to the death of Bustinski.

Update: Police investigate a fatal stabbing in Richmond BC

Police were called to the Richmond General Hospital after a 22 year old man was found in the parking lot suffering from stab wounds on Friday January 27th just before midnight.

The man was then transported to Vancouver General Hospital for treatment, however died from his injuries shortly after arrival.

Police are not releasing the victim’s name until his next of kin has been notified.

The victim has been identified as Francis Le 24 of Surrey BC.

Dean Gillette dies of a gunshot wound in Cawston, Okanagan-Similkameen British Columbia

Dean Gillette’s body was found January 17 beside Willowbrook Road near White Lake, west of Okanagan Falls. Police said the 27 year old died of a gunshot wound.

No arrests have been made in the murder of Gillette, and police believe his death was targeted.

Karanpartap Waraich killed in targeted shooting

Surrey Police were called to the 12900 block of 96th Avenue on January 23rd at around 9:15pm after several reports of gunshots.

Police arrived to find Karanpartap Waraich 22, suffering from gunshot wounds, in vehicle that had crashed into a sign at a McDonald’s restaurant. Waraich was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and ask that anyone with information call IHIT Information Line at 1‐877‐551‐IHIT (4448)

Update: Three men arrested in relation to the double homicide in Prince George BC

Prince George police responded to a report of shots fired at around 2:40am, January 25th on Foothills Boulevard near the intersection of North Nechako Road.

Police found the vehicle with three adult men inside. Two of the men were pronounced dead at the scene, the third man was rushed to hospital with what is believed to be a non life threatening injury.

the victims names have not been released at this time.

Police believe the homicide to be targeted and ask that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477

Update January 27th

Aaron Ryan Moore 27, and Joshua Steven West 33,have been arrested and charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder. A third suspect has also been arrested, however police have not released his name or extent of the charges.

Body found near the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory deemed a homicide

RCMP were called to the area of Willowbrook and White Lake Roads on January 17th after report of a body.

Police said the deceased a 27 year old man from Kelowna, was victim of a homicide, but could not elaborate on the cause of death.

An abandoned truck was located on fire near Kaleden on a highway, the same truck had been reported stolen from Kelowna on January 6th.  Police are investigating the connection between the truck and the victim.
