RCMP were investigating after a body was found inside a burned vehicle on a service road just west of Stony Plain on April 3rd.
The age and identity of the person is not yet known and the cause of the fire is under investigation, RCMP said in a news release.

Luke MacLeod 32, has been charged with second-degree murder, accused of killing Sheri Carpen 31, in March.
Carpen’s body was discovered in a northeast Calgary home on March 28.
Originally, MacLeod told police Carpen, his girlfriend, committed suicide.
The body of 25-year-old Mohameddek Ali Mohamud was found on the ski jump service road in the 8800 block of Olympic Way S.W Calgary by a passerby March 25th.
Police are not releasing the cause of death.
Police say anyone who may have seen Mohamud or seen something suspicious should call 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
Edmonton Police responded to call regarding a deceased male on March 22. On arrival they found Casey Darrell Crier 29, dead inside an apartment.
An autopsy confirmed the death of Crier was homicide, but the cause of death has not been released.

In the early hours of March 18, police were called to the area of 16 Avenue and 5 Street N.E Calgary. after EMS reported a body was found by area residents.
Police say the victim, a 16-year-old girl, sustained trauma consistent with being struck by a vehicle. She was declared dead at the scene.
The accused, 70-year-old Stanislaw Maguder, was released on $10,000 bail. Conditions of Maguder’s release includes:
- A curfew which requires he remains in his home between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
- He may only ride in a motor vehicle if the vehicle’s registered owner is present (public transit and hired taxi exluded)
Heffernan was shot by a Calgary officer with 15 years policing experience the afternoon of March 16 at the Super 8 in the 3000 block of Barlow Tr. N.E.
Police at the time said they were called by hotel staff and tried to make contact through the space in a latched door before making the decision to enter the room, then inside were confronted with a “high-risk situation.”
Heffernan’s sister Natalie Iaquinta offered details of what she said the family has been told thus far by investigators.
Iaquinta said the ordeal started when her brother failed to check out in the midst of his relapse into drug addiction.
She said five officers broke down the door and Heffernan stood and raised his hands — in one was a lighter and in the other was a syringe.
Police responded to reports of a shooting on March 9th in Edmonton. Police found Mohamed Ahmed Adam 33, whose body was found in an alley behind a local restaurant.
Police have confirmed that Adam died of gunshot wounds.

Jessica Newman’s, body was found in a ditch in a rural area northeast Calgary March 10th.
The 24-year-old was missing for eight weeks before her body was found and was last seen alive at her workplace, the Water Grill. She leaves behind three young boys.
Calgary’s Kavin Rubletz is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jessica Rae Newman.

21 year old Chad Gosselin is charged with accessory to commit murder, a 15 year old male is charged with second degree murder and 20 year old Dylan Cameron is charged with manslaughter.
RCMP say Walker was killed in a home in Saddleridge, in NE Calgary.
His partially burned body was then dumped on the Tsuu T’ina Nation where it was found March 7 by a couple of fisherman near the Weaselhead Bridge.
The death of 14-year-old Hyde Hayden, whose body was found at the Roseau River First Nation over the weekend, is being investigated as a homicide, RCMP announced Tuesday.
Officers with the Dakota Ojibway Police Service found the teen outside Ginew School on March 1st.
The cause of death has not been released, and no suspects have been named.
