Iqaluit police were called to the Tammaativvik Boarding Home in Iqaluit on  May 6, where a 22-year-old female was located with no vital signs.

The investigation lead police to find the victim’s 31-year-old domestic partner also deceased. On May 8th RCMP reported the deaths to be a murder suicide.
