Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an injured man on Seventh Avenue and Roy Lane on September 5th at approximately 8:35pm.

Police arrived to find George Tait, 40, of Sachigo Lake First Nation, suffering from serious injuries. Tait was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Cause of death has not been released, however OPP said they are treating the death as a homicide.
