Update: Shooting in Toronto’s Chinatown leaves Quinn Taylor & David “Mikey” Eminess dead

Toronto police say five people were shot and two have died in an shooting that happened Sunday January 31st at around 3am at Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street in Chinatown.

Toronto paramedics said they responded to four male victims, including one who was pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were transported to hospital, one was in life threatening condition, he has since died, the last victim managed to make his own way to the hospital.

“Some sort of altercation occurred that prompted the shooting but we’re still early in the investigation,” said homicide Det. Mike Carbone.

No suspects have been made and police aren’t ruling out gang violence.

**UPDATE**

Quinn Taylor 29 and  David Eminess 26, have been identified as the two homicide victims. Police do not believe the shooting to be gang related.

On Thursday Feburary 11th, Kyle Sparks-Mackinnon 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Update February 21 2017

Jahmal Richardson, 33, of Oakville was arrested on February 16th and charged with two counts of second degree murder, and two counts of attempted murder. Richardson is the suspected leader of the Heart of a King (HOK) gang.  Richardson was also charged in the 2015 death of Charles Shillingford.
