Cambridge’s Ronald Domonsky died of stab wounds

Cambridge’s Ronald Domonsky, 61, died from multiple stab wounds to his torso .

Domonsky’s half-brother, Lynn Maclean has been charged with second-degree murder in the case.

Maclean and Domonsky lived together in Cambridge on Hilltop Drive, according to police, who were called to the residence late night Jan 25th.

When police arrived they found Domonsky was seriously injured, and later died in hospital.

 

Winnipeg family looking for answers after death of Dustin McKay.

Two men are in custody following the Jan. 23 death of 22-year-old Dustin McKay, Winnipeg’s first homicide of the year.

According to Winnipeg police, McKay and a 28-year-old man got into a fight on the roadway around Isabel Street and Pacific Avenue about 11:20 p.m. and McKay was knocked unconscious.

He was left lying in the southbound lanes of Isabel street when the 28-year-old took off with a woman in a vehicle.

Police say a short time later a separate vehicle hit McKay. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.

A 50-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving causing death. and drive with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood causing death.

The 28-year-old has been charged with manslaughter.

Newmarket man Mario Wint charged in death of 2-year-old son.

A 29-year-old Newmarket father is accused of killing his two-year-old son, York Regional Police said.

Police said they received a call regarding “an injured person” at a home on Longford Dr., near Yonge St. and Davis Dr., around 2:20 p.m. on Jan 23.

“Officers arrived on scene and located a two-year-old boy who was not breathing,” Const. Laura Nicolle said. “The child was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”

Homicide detectives have been investigating the toddler’s death since then they arrested his dad, she said.

Mario Wint, 29, faces a charge of second-degree murder.

Death of Owen Sound resident Lezleigh Hopkins ruled a homicide after autopsy.

An arrest has been made in Owen Sound’s first murder of 2015.  28 year old David Small has been charged with First Degree Murder in the death of Lezleigh Hopkins.

The lifeless body of the 28 year old Hopkins was found inside her apartment at 862 2nd Ave. West in Owen Sound on Thursday, January 22nd. Hopkins..who is originally from Hanover..was a tenant in the 7 unit duplex.

 

Paul Murray Grandbois father of four identified as first Edmonton homicide victim of 2015

The man has been identified as 36-year-old Paul Murray Grandbois. The cause of death is not being released at this time because the investigation is still taking place.

Police were called to assist EMS in the Blue Quill Estates neighbourhood around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday Jan 21, where the body was found laying beside the curb on 25 Avenue, between 119 Street and 120 Street in Edmonton.

Police said they did not have any suspects.

Grandbois’ criminal record includes a July 2008 conviction of failing to comply with conditions, an April 2009 conviction for failing to appear, and a May 2009 conviction for breaching conditions. In December 2009 he was sentenced to 32 months in jail for sexual assault and in April 2013 Grandbois was sentenced to 30 days in jail for assault.

Three men charged with the murder of Jordan McLeod

Darren Sundman, 33, Kurtis Sundman, 26, and Sebastian Martin, 42, were arrested August 9th and charged with first-degree murder of Jordan McLeod of Prince George.

McLeod was last seen on January 16th and reported missing on the 19th . Police responded to reports of shots been fired on January 16th. Upon arrival they found evidence that someone had been injured, however no body was found.

McLeod’s body was found in Febuary by a man walking his dog.

Son charged in murder of father Aloy Onochie at North York condo.

Aloy Onochie 61-year-old Toronto man has been identified as the victim in the city’s latest homicide and his 18-year-old son has been charged in his death.

Toronto police were called to a Pemberton Avenue condo building on Jan 18th in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area, where they found a man dead.

Det. Rob North said the victim was found suffering from “blunt-force trauma injuries to his body.”

 

His son, 18-year-old Uchenna Onochie, now faces a charge of second-degree murder

Const​. David Wynn, Mountie gunned down in St. Albert, dies in hospital.

A routine licence plate check on a slow night led up to the shooting that killed Const. David Wynn in a casino near Edmonton on Jan 17th, 2015.

Deputy Commissioner Marianne Ryan said Wynn was in the casino parking lot checking licence plates — a common task for RCMP members on a slow night. Wynn got suspicious when one of the plates he checked did not match the truck that it was attached to. He decided to follow up by going inside the casino to check the building’s security footage.

After identifying a suspect on the video, the pair of RCMP officers happened to pass the man on the way out of the casino.

When the officers tried to arrest the man, he pulled a handgun and fired two shots. Wynn was hit in the head, while Bond was shot in the arm and torso. RCMP say the encounter lasted three to five seconds.

St. Albert RCMP has identified the man responsible for shooting two Mounties inside a casino early Saturday morning.

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson said 34-year-old Shawn Maxwell Rehn had a lengthy, “incredibly complex criminal history” and was “very, very well known to police.”

Rehn was found dead inside a rural St. Albert-area home after an intense manhunt.

 

Murder charge laid in death of Monica Burns.

Police have charged a Prince Albert, Sask., man in the death of Monica Burns.

Todd Daniel McKeaveney, 38, will appear in Prince Albert provincial court Friday. He’s charged with second-degree murder.

Burns’s body was found Jan. 17 on a snowmobile trail northwest of the city.

According to RCMP, the victim and the man charged were not “known to each other”.

Update November 14th 2016

Todd Daniel McKeaveney entered a plea and pleaded guilty to manslaughter on November 8th. He also pleaded guilty to committing an indignity to a human body.

 

Stuart David Ellis found dead in his vehicle

Stuart David Ellis, 39, was found dead in an SUV on Hazel Street after reports of a traffic accident just before midnight Monday.

Police were called to reports of a single vehicle crash on Hazel Street after 11 p.m on January 12th. Mounties found Stuart David Ellis dead at the scene, however his injuries were not consistent with a car accident.
