The fire that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Renee Neganiwina has been ruled a homicide, and now the man she lived with is facing second degree murder charges, police announced.
Joseph Snelgrove, 38, who police say was in a relationship with Neganiwina, is now in police custody. Police say the two lived together in the home.
Snelgrove turned himself in to Toronto Police. He was transported back to Hamilton where he was interviewed by detectives from the local homicide unit. Police have now charged him with second degree murder.
Police were called to Willow Park Centre, a building which houses a businesses , retailers, and a probation office due to reports of gunshots on May 27th.
Taylor Zanoni of Calgary was found with severe injuries, and later died in hospital.
There are no suspects at this time, and police believe this to be a targeted attack.

Elizabeth Fischer was found dead at her home in Erin, located near Guelph, May 27th, when OPP officers showed up responding to a report of a “family dispute.”
Frank Fischer faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of his wife.
Fischer’s cause of death has not been released.
A passerby found Singh’s body in a heavily wooded area in McCowan Park, May 25th and alerted Toronto police.
Nitiyand Gary Singh’s body showed signs of trauma, however the cause of death has not been released.

22-year-old Trent Mark Pascal, was found dead in front of a home in Regina early morning on May 25. Pascal was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Regina police have charged the Steven Blaine Pascal brother of Trent Pascal, with second degree murder.
An investigation into Yawney’s death began May 24th when officers were called to a home in Regina’s Rosemont neighbourhood. Police found the body of Celeste Yawney.
Second degree murder charges were laid against Duran Redwood Celeste Yawney ex-boyfriend in the death Yawney.
Cameron Alexander Mossaddad of Waterloo has been charged with second degree murder.
71-year-old Herma Parkes was found dead in her Richmond Hill apartment on May 23.
The cause of death has been determined, but not released at this time.
A 10 month investigation resulted in the arrest of one man in connection to the death of Brittaney Medicine Crane 24, in Stand Off, Alta.
Crane was found on May 21st 2015 unresponsive in her home. An investigation was prompted as the death was suspicious. Blood Tribe police, Red Deer RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit, Lethbridge’s forensic identification unit and Calgary Police’s contributed to the investigation.
A 29 year old un-named man was arrested on March 5th 2015, and charged with manslaughter.
Randy Evans, 54, was May 20th lying covered in blood, outside the doors of the Aurora Motel in Edmonton.
Evans was in critical condition when he was transported to hospital where he died a few days later.
Police have said that Evans injuries were from a beating, but will not release the cause of death.
On May 21, a 911 caller alerted the Sûreté du Québec that they would find two wounded people in a home. When police arrived, the people were dead.
The victims are 51-year-old Louise Hamel, and 54-year-old Mario Cournoyer.
This is now believed to be a murder suicide, and the police do not have any suspects.
