Mother of 6 dies in Port Moody house fire

Port Moody Police were called to a home on Dewdney Trunk Road at around 1: 30 pm on report of a domestic dispute on July 10th .  Police arrived to find the home engulfed in flames and were told there were two adults inside the home.

The two adults were rescued and the female was taken to hospital, while the man was taken away by police. Five of the couple’s six children were home at the time of the fire but escaped from the second story window.

The woman died in hospital Sunday evening.

Niether names of the victim or suspect have been released at this time.

The man who is believed to be the husband and father to the children is facing second degree murder charges.

Randy James Munian, robbery suspect dies of gunshot wound

The attempted robbery of two armoured truck guards at a TD Canada Trust bank in southeast Edmonton took place at around 12:45am on July 8th. The two male suspects pepper sprayed the guards without success.

It is alleged that one of the guards discharged his firearm killing Randy James Munian 40 in what Edmonton Police are calling the 27th homicide of 2016.

Police say it’s a non-culpable homicide and no charges will be laid against the guard.

George Auld 83 dies from injuries sustained in an attack

Police were called to a home in the Hickson Street and St. Clarens Avenue area on June 26th on report of ‘Unknown Trouble”.  On arrival Police found George Auld 83, and an un-named woman suffering from serious injuries.

Both were rushed to hospital where George Auld died from his injuries on July 3rd. The woman is expected to recover.

Artel Odel Auld, 51, of Toronto has been charged with second degree murder and assault causing bodily harm.

Brenda Campbell and John McKinnon Bendon die in Winnipeg house fire

A fire broke out on Austin Street North in Winnipeg at around 1:40 a.m. July 7th. When The fire department arrived the 3 story rooming house it was fully engulfed in flames. 13 of the 15 occupants managed to escape.

Brenda Campbell, 51, and John McKinnon Bendon, 61, died as a result of the fire, that The Arson Strike Force believes was deliberately set.

More information will be provided once it becomes available.

 

Tarique Leger shot dead in Ottawa

Police were called to a building at 292 St. Andrew Street, on reports of a shooting just before 4 a.m on July 10th. Police arrived to fine Tarique Leger, 19, of Montreal severely injured. He was used to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not named any suspects at this time. Leger’s death is the 9th Ottawa homicide of 2016.

UPDATE: Joseph Douglas Cameron shot to death in Dartmouth

March 29th Police responded to reports of shots fired at around 5:30 a.m. They arrived to find Joseph Cameron 20 unresponsive, lying on the sidewalk between Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road.

Police have not named any suspect.

Update July 8th,
Police arrested a 17 year old Nova Scotia teen  in London, Ontario on July 7th. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Joseph Cameron.
