On April 11th Ottawa police responded to report of an assault that took place at the Ottawa Carleton Regional Detention Center on Innes Road.
36-year-old Marco Michaud was found suffering from serious injuries and was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police initially charged Mohamed Barkhadle, 32, Pierre Senatus, 22, and Jimmy ST.Hilaire, 19, with attempted murder. On April 4th Michaud was taken off life support and died in hospital.
Michaud was seving time for the beating death of Gerald Leduc, 53.
Police said the charges are being reviewed and may be updated, as applicable.
