Update Foster Mother Charged - Lydia Whitford's death being investigated as a homicide 5 months later

Manitoba RCMP were called to a residence in the RM of Springfield on July 14. Police arrived to find Lydia Whitford 18, dead.

According to Lydia’s sister Jessica Whitford, Lydia had autism, epilepsy and was non-verbal.

Back in July it was thought that Lydia died of natural causes, since then, on December 20th investigators say that Whitford’s death was a homicide.

The cause of death has not been released.

Lisa Marie Campbell, 26, the foster mother of 18 year old Lydia Whitford was arrested on December 7th 2017, and charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of Lydia Whitford.
