33 year old Bigue Ndao stabbed to death by her estranged husband in Edmonton’s 11th homicide of the year

Edmonton police were called to  96 Avenue and 87 Street, at approximately 4 p.m, on May 7th on report of a disturbance.

Police arrived to find a 33-year-old woman, deceased in the suite. The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the victim was stabbed to death by her estranged husband.

Police have charged the victim’s 41-year-old estranged husband with second-degree murder and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Update May 10th
Court documents obtained by Global News show Ahmadou Bamba Mbaye has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a dangerous weapon in the death of 33-year-old Bigue Ndao.

Update October 17th, 2020
Ahmadou Bamba Mbaye pleaded guilty on October 14th, 2020, to the second-degree murder of his estranged wife Bigue Ndao. According to reports Mbaye admitted that he stabbed Bigue Ndao 71 times.
