William Fisher had been in prison for less than a week when he went into medical distress on February 25th at the North Fraser Pre-Trial Centre. Officers responded to a fight where they found 27 year old Fisher in distress. He was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later

Fisher was awaiting transfer to a federal prison, Fisher was facing a three-year sentence for his involvement in the Stanley Cup riots.
