Markham Police were called to a home in the area of Bayview Avenue and Highway 407 on January 1st on report of an injured person.

Police located a 49 year old man unconscious and not breathing. Despite lifesaving efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested and charged the victim’s 24 year old son and charged him with manslaughter. York Regional Police said they will not be releasing the names of the victim or the accused.
