Vancouver police received several 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired on July 25th at approximately 8:00pm. Police and paramedics arrived to find Matthew Alexander Navas-Rivas suffering from a gunshot wound. Navas-Rivas was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police said Matthew Alexander Navas-Rivas, 28, and his friend were walking their dogs in the Cambridge Street and Nanaimo Street area when a suspect approached Navas-Rivas and shot him. The suspect then fled to a nearby vehicle and fled the scene.

Police said a man in his 20’s has died after being severely injured at a residence in the area of Sanborn St. and Gordon St on July 18th.
The 20 year old victim was stabbed while in an altercation with many people. police have arrested two men, aged 19 and 25, but said it is possible that more may be arrested.
Granby police responded to a report of a seriously injured man on Autier St. near a strip mall on July 28th at approximately 2:30am.
Police and Paramedics located the victim 20-year-old Cedric Dupuis Skinner who was known to police, suffering from seriously injuries. Skinner was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
No arrested have been made at this time.
Virden RCMP received a report of a male in medical distress at a residence on July 21st at approximately 1:15pm.
Police arrived to the scene where several people were to find Clarence Eastman Jr, 31, who had injuries consistent with being in an altercation. Eastman who is from the Canupawakpa Dakota Nation was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
RCMP arrested Cassidy Eagle, 31, of Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation, and charged him with Second Degree Murder.
Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service discovered human remains on St. Regis Island on July 25th.
Police said that the remains have been identified as Kenneth Francis Leaf, 50 years old, from Akwesasne, who had been missing since January 2018.
Police said the death of Leaf is a homicide and ask anyone with any information is asked to call the SQ’s Information Centre at 1-800-659-4264.
Langley police and emergency health services responded to a call for assistance at a residence in the 20000-block of 68th Avenue on July 22nd at approximately 9:30pm.
Police arrived to find Aaliyah Rosa, 7, deceased. A 36 year old woman, who police believe was involved in this incident remains in the care of medical staff.

Update August 21
Aaliyah’s 36-year-old mother, Kerryann Lewis, Kerryann Lewis,was arrested and charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of the child. Lewis will appear before a judge in B.C. Provincial Court on August 20, 2018
Toronto police responded to a shooting in the Islington Avenue and Milady Road area on July 25th at approximately 11:00am.
Police arrived to find a Kevin Boakye, 24, suffering from a gunshot wound, in the drivers seat of a vehicle. Boakye was pronounced deceased a shot time later.
Police said shell casings were found at the intersection of Islington Avenue and Duncanwoods Drive. Police believe the shooting took place in that location.

West Kelowna police responded to a reprt of an injured woman at a hotel located in the 3400 block of Carrington Road.
Police arrived to find Rama Gauravarapu deceased. A male suspect was arrested a short distance away. Court records indicate that Tejwant Danjou, 69, has been charged with second degree murder.
Police said the victim and the accused were known to eachother.
Montreal police were called to the area of St-Laurent Boulevard and Viger Avenue, near Montreal’s Chinatown, at approximately 3:50am on July 21st.
Police arrived to find two victims, in their 20’s that had been stabbed. Both were rushed to hospital where the one victim died of his injuries.
Police said a 28-year-old man, a 26-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman were arrested. No other information has been released at this time.
