Toronto Homicicde #7 – Anik Stewart dies of a gunshot wound

Toronto police responded to a radio call for a shooting at 271 Old Kingston Road on February 15th at approximately 1am.

Police arrived at the scene to find Anik Stewart, 21, of Toronto suffering from serious injuries. Stewart was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Aruran Suthakaran, 21, of Toronto, was arrested on February 21, 2018, at approximately 5:30 p.m.,  Suthakaran, has been charged with second degree murder.

Joseph Francois dies of a stab wound in Winnipeg

Winnipeg emergency personnel responded to a call for service in the 500 block of Furby Street on February 14th at approximately 2:30 am.

On arrival emergency personnel located the victim, 45 year old Joseph Francois. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation revealed he cause of death to be a stab wound.

Joseph Allan Ballantyne, 55, was arrested at approximatelt 5:30 pm on February 14th and charged with manslaughter.

Charges laid in the fatal stabbing of Conrad Flett

Winnipeg police and emergency personnel responded to a stabbing in the first 100 block of Charles Walk on February 14th at approximately 8:50am.

Police found Conrad Flett, 27, of Wasagamack suffering from a stab wound. Flett was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said Flett had been staying with his female partner when a man broke into the residence and stabbed Flett.

Police arrested Jarryd Rocky Harper, 25, of Winnipeg on February 15th. Harper has been charged with second degree murder.

Charges laid in the death of James Chaisson

Saskatoon Police responded to a report of an injured male on Avenue P South between 21st and 22nd Streets on February 14th at approximately 4:30am.

Police said the victim, 28 year old James Chaisson died at the scene. Cause of death has not been released.

On February 17th Saskatoon police arrested Brandin Brick in relation to to the death of Chaisson. Brick is facing charges of First Degree Murder, Kidnapping, Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited , and Breach of Recognizance.

16 year old Chance Gauthier shot to death in a Windsor alley

Wondsor police were dispatched to the 900 block of Church Street after receiving a report of a male laying in the alley on February 14th shortly after 7:00am.

Police arrived at the scene to find 16 year old Chance Gauthier dead from a gunshot wound. The murder weapon was not recovered.

Police arrested Mal Chol, 20, of Waterloo on February 17th. Chol has been charged with: First degree murder, Kidnapping and Forcible confinement.

Police are still searching for Nouraldin Rabee, 20, of Windsor.  Rabee is wanted for First degree murder, Kidnapping and Forcible confinement. He is described as 6’2, 150 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He is to be considered armed and dangerous. DO NOT approach him dial 911.

 

Maria Desousa allegedly murdered by her son and his girlfriend

Ottawa police were called to investigate a suspicious death after 81 year old Maria Desousa was taken to hospital on February 10th.

Police said Desousa had already died before she was taken to the hospital. Desousa’s injuries were inconsistent with what was said to be a fall and that the cause of her death was a homicide.

Paulo Desousa, 40, and Danielle LeBlanc, 36, Maria Desousa’s son and his girlfriend have been charged with first degree murder.

20 year old man charged with the death of Shane Victor Lynas in Lloydminster

Lloydminster RCMP officers responded to a call for assistance at a residence just after midnight on February 12th.

Police arrived to find Shane Victor Lynas, 47, in serious condition. Lynas dies shortly after being found by police. The cause of death has not been released, however autopsy report determined the death was a homicide.

A 20 year old man from Lloydminster has been charged with second degree murder. Police believe the homicide was targeted.

 

Christopher Swanson shot to death in Sault Ste. Marie

Sault Ste. Marie Police responded to a report of a deceased male that was located on the road near a residence in the 400 block of Morin Street on February 10th at approximately 4:00am.

Police located the victim who was later identified as 23 year old Christopher Swanson of Sault Ste. Marie. Swanson had died from a gunshot wound.

Joshua McCabe, 30, was arrested in a residence in the 400 block of Morin Street on February 12th. McCabe has been charged with the second degree murder of Christopher Swanson.
