Mississauga police were called to a home on Marmac Crescent near Winston Churchill Boulevard and The Collegeway on report of a domestic disturbance on January 13th at approximately 1am.
Police arrived at the home to find a 61 year old woman dead. Police arrested the woman’s husband and transported him to hospital with a serious injury. One daughter of the accused was also transported to hospital for injuries, her sister was left unharmed.
Police have not released the name of the victim or the accused at this time.
Murders in 2018 So Far: 0 (28 in 2017)
The altercation took place outside Costco in downtown Vancouver just after 11am on December 20th. The 86 year old victim struck his head on the ground after allegedly being pushed.
Officers arrested the 57-year-old suspect almost two hours later near his home in East Vancouver.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he died from his injury on January 12th.
The investigation is ongoing.
Peel Regional Police responded to a call at a residence on Starhill Crescent on January 12th at approximately 10:45pm.
On arrival police found Baljit Thandi, 32, and her mother Avtar Kaur, 60, dead at the scene. Police said both Thandi and Kaur died from stab wounds.
Dalwinder Singh, 29, The husband of Baljit Thandi was found at the scene. Singh was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Winnipeg Police said they conducted traffic stop in the area of St. Anne’s Road and Fermor Avenue, on January 9th at 8pm.
In a press release Police said “Circumstances surrounding the traffic stop led officers to attend to a residence in the first 100 block of Manila Road.” Police found Hossein Lotfi 77, dead at the scene.
The homicide unit has taken over the investigation,

Emergency crews responded to a stabbing in the area of Harmony Road and Taunton Road in Oshawa on January 11th at approximately 3:00pm.
Neveithan Baskaran, 17, was found suffering from a serious stab wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
A 16 year old boy was arrested at a near by home and charged with second degree murder.

Surrey police responded to report of a suspicious circumstance in the 17800 block of 64 Avenue, on January 8th at 12:30am.
Police located Shawnn Patrick Cotter, 37, unresponsive. Despite life saving efforts Cotter was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Corporal Meghan Foster of IHIT said “from the evidence gathered so far investigators believe that his death is not random.”

Lamont RCMP responded to a report of an altercation on January 8th at approximately 3:14pm at an Esso gas station.
Police said the elderly was was severely injured, and dies from his injuries. Police have not released any other information pertaining to the death of the man.
Police are looking for a potential witness, who is described as a white woman in her late 20s or early 30s, short pink or purple hair, wearing black sunglasses, a black coat and mukluks. The woman was with a six or seven year old boy, who was wearing a red T-shirt.
Police are asking anyone with information to call RCMP at 780-997-7900.
Saskatoon police were called to a home in the 100 block of Cope Crescent to check on the welfare of an individual on January 7th just before 12pm.
On arrival police found John McPherson, 60, deceased in the home. Police said the death is the first Saskatoon homicide of 2018.
