Ahmed Farah murdered 2 hours after his release from the Edmonton Remand Centre

The body of Ahmed Farah, 25, was found by a member of the St. Albert RCMP detachment on routine patrol on the side of Range Road 251 on November 25th.

Police said that Farah was released from the Edmonton Remand Centre at approximately 12:50am on November 25th. His body was found at 2:40am. The Remand Centre is approximately 2 km from where Farah’s body was found.

The death of Ahmed Farah has been confirmed to be homicide, police are not releasing cause of death at this time.

Regina Police confirm death of 35 year old Thurston James Mintuck a homicide

Update: police have confirmed the identity as Thurston James Mintuck.

Regina police discovered an injured 35 year old male at a location in the 1200 block of Retallack Street on Sunday November 3rd at approximately 2:45am.

Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital where he died of his injuries. The identity of the victim will not be released until his next of kin is notified.

Cause of death has not been released at this time.

Dean Costanza shot to death in Oakville

Halton police responded to a 911 call on December 3rd, just after 7:00pm reporting possible gun shots in area of North Park Blvd and Sawmill Road, in Oakville.

Police arrived at the scene to find 46 year old Dean Costanza dead in a vehicle.Police said Mr. Costanza was known to police and they believe the shooting was targeted.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area of North Park Blvd and Sawmill Road on December 3, 2017 between 11:00am and 7:30pm, and may have information to contact the Homicide Tip Line at 905-825-4776.

35 year old charged after two women die of stab wounds in Montreal

Montreal Police received a report at approximately 3:15 a.m. on December 3rd that two people had been attacked in an apartment on Souligny Ave.

Police arrived to find a 55year old woman dead at the scene, and a 75 year old woman who was rushed to hospital but died of her injuries. It has been reported that both victims were stabbed.

A 35 year old man was arrested at the scene. Police said the victims were the mother and grandmother of the accused.

Update: Charged laid in Toronto homicide #57 – Malique Ellis shot to death in Scarborough

Toronto police responded to a report of a shooting at 3121 Eglinton Avenue East on December 3rd at approximately 10:30am.

police arrived to find Malique Ellis, 21 of Toronto suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Ellis was pronounced dead at. The scene.

Toronto Homicide Victim List 2017

Update January 20th
On January 18, Toronto Homicide investigators arrested Henok Mebratu, 24, of Mississauga. Mebratu has been charged with first degree murder in relation to the death of Malique Ellis.

Update – Yosif Al-Hasnawi shot to death after trying to break up a fight in Hamilton

Hamilton police were called to the area of Main Street East and Wentworth Street South at approximately 9pm on December 2nd after receiving reports of a shooting.

Police said the victim, Yosif Al-Hasnawi 19, was attempting to help a man who was being accosted by 2 other men when he was shot.

Al-Hasnawi was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police are looking for 2 suspects. The first has been described as 20s, medium to darker complexion, a medium build and long black hair tied in a pony tail on top of his head. He was wearing a hood, jeans and a backpack. The second suspect was described as 20’s, light complection, bald shaved head, shorter and heavier than the first suspect. He was wearing a hood and jeans.

Update December 4th
James Anthony Robert Matheson, 20, was arrested on Monday December 4th and charged Accessory After the Fact of Murder.

Police are asking for help from the public in locating Dale Burningsky King, 19, pictured below. Burningsky King is wanted for second degree murder. Anyone with information that could assist Police is asked to contact Detective Doug Jonovich at (905) 546-4863.

Update December 7th
Hamilton Police Service and the OPP,  arrested Dale King on December 7th at approximately 4:30pm in Hagersville. A female was also arrested and and is under investigation for accessory after the fact.

Woman dies in Winnipeg’s 21st homicide of 2017

Winnipeg police and paramedics responded to report of an injured person in the area of the 400 block of William Ave on November 30th at approximately 6:45pm.

On arrival a male and a female were found suffering from injuries. The injured male was treated and rushed to hospital where he remains in critical condition. The woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Update: Kalen Schlatter arrested in Toronto Homicide #56 – Tess Richey Died of Neck Compression

Tess Richey, 22, was reported missing by her family on on  Saturday, November 25th. Richey had gone out with friends on November 24th and was last seen in the early morning hours of November 25th in the Church Street and Wellesley Street East area.

Tess Richey was found dead on November 29th,  just outside of 582 Church Street, near an underground stairwell. An autopsy was completed on December 1st ruling the death to be a homicide and the cause of death to be Neck Compression.

Police are looking to identify an unknown man who was with Tess Richey after her friend departed the area. The man has been described as white, taller than the deceased, approximately 5’7” – 6’, slim build, light-coloured short hair.

On Sunday February 4th at approximately 11pm ,Toronto Police arrested Kalen Schlatter, 21, of Toronto. Schlatter was charged with the second degree murder of Tess Richey. Schlatter appeared at College Park Courts today, February 5th, he remains in custody.

Update March 23

Toronto Police confirmed that Kalen Schlatter is now facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of 22-year-old Tess Richey.
