Charges laid in Tallcree First Nation homicide of Jordan Laboucan

RCMP were called to the hospital in High Level on Friday December 15th after hospital staff found suspicious injuries consistent with blunt force trauma on a patient, Jordan Laboucan 22.

Laboucan dies in hospital of his injuries on December 16th. Harley Auger, 30, was arrested on the South Tallcree First Nation, and charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Jordan Laboucan.

Ottawa homicide 14 – Keith Fitzsimmons dies of a gunshot wound

Ottawa police and paramedics responded to report of a man in cardiac arrest on Frechette Street at approximately 3:00am on December 23rd.

On arrival paramedics determined that the man had been shot, and rushed him to hospital where he died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as Keith Fitzsimmons, 50.

A youth who can not be named has been charged with first degree murder. Sébastien Lafleur, 21, was charged with forcible confinement, uttering threats and several firearms charges.

Ron Volansky and Roy Bugera found dead in Needles

Nakusp RCMP responded to possible shots being fired at a residence on Needles North Road in the small community of Needles,  5:30 p.m. on December 18th.

Police obtained entry at two separate and neighboring residences where officers located a deceased male at each property. The victims have been identified as Ron Volansky 83 and Roy Bugera 58.

Major crimes detectives are still investigating, but RCMP have said they are not looking for any suspects.

Jeffrey Allan Johnson found dead in Oshawa

Oshawa police were called to to an apartment on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa on December 17th at approximately 4:00pm after a man was found deceased in a vacant apartment.

Jeffrey Allan Johnson 31, was pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsy results revealed the cause of death to be sharp-force trauma.

Halifax police rule February 2017 death of a woman a homicide 41 years after being shot

Deanna Conant was shot on June 23, 1976 in Lawrencetown, the shooter Wesley Elvin Poole, 34 killed himself that day.

41 years later, on February 16th 2017,  Deanna Conant, 77, died at a Halifax nursing home.

Dr. Matthew Bowes said “Scars are formed (over the injury) as the body heals itself, and I’m just left with a set of structural abnormalities in the spinal cord or the brain that are plausibly linked to the gunshot wound,”.

 

Shelby Goldhar found dead in Richmond Hill – One arrest made and a Canada wide warrant issued for the arrests of two other suspects

York Regional Police responded to a residence located in the area of Bayview Avenue and Crosby Avenue, on December 20, 2017, at approximately 11 am, on report that a woman was killed.

Police arrived at the scene to find 28 year old Shelby Goldhar dead at the scene. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Clifford Campsall 27, was arrested and charged with second degree murder and indignity to a dead body. Police have issued a Canada wide warrant for the arrests of Nikita Pouzanov 24, and Felicia Land 25.

Kelowna man accused of murdering his wife and two young daughters

Kelowna RCMP were called to a residence in the Rutland area on December 19th, 2017 at approximately 5pm.

Police arrived to find Clara Soledad Forman,  and her two young daughters Karina Anne Forman, and Yesenia Kate Forman dead at the scene. Police have not released the cause of death.

Jacob Forman has been charged with three counts of second degree murder.  Forman’s next court appearance is January 18th.

No other information has been released at this time.

Update Hamilton homicide #10 – 60 year old man dies in domestic related stabbing

Hamilton police were called to 134 Highland Rd. West on December 20th on report of “family trouble” just before noon.

On arrival police located a 60 year old man suffering from stab wounds. The victim was rushed to the Hamilton General Hospital where he died of his injuries.

A man was arrested at the scene and charged with second degree murder. Police said there is no threat to the public’s safety.

The victim’s identity will not be released until next of kin has been notified.

Update December 22

police have identified the victim as Janusz (John) Harpula, 60. Harpula’s son 29 year old Thomas Harpula has been charged with second degree murder.
