On arrival police located the victim who was later identified as 24 year old Alexander Blanarou. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Penticton RCMP is investigating the city’s 4th homicide of 2017, however police have not released who the victim is or when they died.
Police superintendent Ted De Jager said “There is nothing further to release on this matter. There is no nexus to public safety and the integrity of the investigation outweighs the need to notify the public of the particulars,”

Waterloo Regional Police were called to a home in the area on Christmas Day where they found 57 year old Elizabeth Alder dead.
On December 27, 2017, police arrested a 17 year old male in connection to the suspicious death of Elizabeth Alder, 57. Prior to the arrest the name and photograph of the suspect were released, however the authority to publish the identity of a young person ceases after five days or with the apprehension of the young person.
The 17 year old has been charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Alder. No other information has been released at this time.

Edmonton police responded to a call for assistance at an address near 73 Avenue and 77 Street at approximately 3:30am on December 25th. On arrival police found a 48 year old man dead in the residence.
Police released the autopsy results on December 28th, revealing the cause of death to be a stab wound. The name of the victim has not been released.
Police arrested Stephan Hendrick Kody, 22, the victim’s step-son, and charged him with second degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Update December 31st
Eddie Eugene Melenka, 48, has been identified as Edmonton’s 42nd homicide victim of 2017. Autopsy report revealed the cause of death to be a stab wound.
Oak Bay police responded to a “potential incident” at about 5:00pm on Christmas day at a ground floor apartment unit on Beach Drive.
At the scene police located two young girls Chloe, 6, and Aubrey, 4, deceased. Their father Andrew Berry, 43, is in hospital with self-inflicted wounds. Police at this time are not seeking further suspects.
According to reports, the girl’s mother Sarah Cotton called police after her estranged common law husband didn’t return the girls as scheduled on Christmas day.
No further information will be released at this time.
Police are searching for the mother of a newborn who was left in a parking lot behind the Bownesian Grocer on December 24th between the hours of 3pm and 11:30pm.
North Vancouver RCMP responded to the discovery of a deceased man who was found in an apartment in the 1500-Block of Fern Street on December 22nd.
The deceased was identified as Gavinder Grewal, 29, of North Vancouver. Grewal was known to police to be involved with gang activities. The cause of death has not been released at this time.
In July 2010, Gavinder Grewal was charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting that killed Mandy Johnson.

Grande Prairie RCMP were dispatched to a residence in the area of 94 Avenue and 100 Street on December 16th on report of a sudden death of a 16 year old girl.
Police located a deceased teenage girl who was later identified as Hannah Sutton, 16. The autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a gunshot wound.
Justice Watt-Blais, 19, has been charged with the second degree murder of his girlfriend Hannah Sutton. Four other males have been arrested in relation to this incident with charges pending of being an accessory after the fact to murder.
Maple Ridge police were called to Kin Park, at approximately 6am on December 22nd on report of shots fired.
The victim, who was known to police died after driving himself to Ridge Meadows Hospital. His name has not been released by police at this time.

Update January 15th
The victim has been identified as Manricco “Ricco” Sansalone, 26.
RCMP were called to the hospital in High Level on Friday December 15th after hospital staff found suspicious injuries consistent with blunt force trauma on a patient, Jordan Laboucan 22.
Laboucan dies in hospital of his injuries on December 16th. Harley Auger, 30, was arrested on the South Tallcree First Nation, and charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of Jordan Laboucan.
