John Tuil Jok dies of a gunshot wound in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police were called to a home in the 700 block of Sherbrook Street at approximately 10:45pm on October 20th on report of a shooting.

Police found John Tuli Jok, 29, suffering from a gunshot wound. Tuli Jok was rusged to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police ask that anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508.

Cody Gionet Dies of a gunshot wound in Newmarket

York Region Police were called to a home in the area of Sheldon Avenue in Newmarket at approximately 9:50pm on October 21st on a weapons complaint.

Police arrived at the scene to find Cody Gionet 30,  suffering from a gunshot wound. Gionet was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police arrested Travis Whitman 20, on October 22nd. Whitman has been charged with second degree murder.

Marline Mars found dead in Vancouver

Vancouver police were called by paramedics to an apartment in the area of Jervis and Harwood Street just before pm on October 13th.

Police found the victim Marline Mars 34, dead, along with other uninjured people who police say are witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time.

Toronto Homicide 51 – Marite Zala 69 stabbed to death

Toronto police responded to a call for Unknown Trouble at 58 Thorncliffe Park Drive, on October 20th at approximately 12:35 am.

Police arrived to find 69 year old Marite Zala suffering from serious injuries. Marite Zala was pronounced at the scene by paramedics.

Ernest Lajos Zala, 31, was arrested at the scene and charged with first degree murder. Police have not disclosed the relationship between the victim and the accused.

Former SQ Officer murdered in Sainte-Hedwidge

Norbert Fortin was found dead by family in his home where he lived alone located in rural Sainte-Hedwidge at 306, Rank 8 on October 15th.

Police said Norbert Fortin, 64, had retired a few decades ago from the SQ. The cause of death has not been released, however police said it was a violent attack.

Police searching for Mohammadali Darabi in relation to Calgary’s latest homicide

Calgary police were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Oakmoor Drive S.W, after a man was found deceased inside the home by a family member on October 15th at approximately 4:45pm.

Police initially said the death of the man in his 20’s was suspicious in nature, however they are now looking for a  person of interest, Mohammadali Darabi, 32, of Calgary.Darabi is being sought in connection with the death of his roommate.

It is believed that Darabi fled the scene in a silver-coloured, 2006 Toyota Corolla with Alberta plate BKW 1855. He is described at 6’1″ 168lbs.

Darabi should not be approached, call police at 911 if you have information about Darabi’s whereabouts.

Update October 18th
Police have identified the victim as Cyrus Ebrahimi, 29. Police found  the Corolla on October 17th in Revelstoke BC. As RCMP apporoached the vehicle they noticed a non responsive man inside. Police believe the driver of the vehicle was the suspect, however his identity had not been proven. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine cause of death and the drivers identity.

Medicine Hat suspicious death of James Satre being investigated as a homicide

Medicine Hat police were called to the area of 1100 block of Mill Street SE on October 10th on an assist EMS call. Police arrived at the scene to find a deceased male who was identified as James Satre, age 64.

An autopsy conducted revealed that Satre’s injuries were not self inflicted. Police have not released the cause of death.  The death of James Satre is now being investigated as a homicide.

Update victim identified – Man dies of a gunshot wound in Calgary

Calgary police and paramedics were called to the 4600 block of Bowness Road N.W. at approximately 5:30 am, October 14th, on reports of a man in medical distress.

Emergency crews arrived to find a man in his 40’s suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Calgary police have identified the victim as Arnold Kerfont, 44, of Calgary.
