13 year old Marrisa Shen found dead in Burnaby’s Central Park

On July 18th at approximately 1am Burnaby RCMP responded to report of a missing 13 year old girl who had not been heard from since 5:00pm on the 17th.

Marrisa Shen was found by investigators in some brush on the southeast side of Central Park in Burnaby early Wednesday July 18th.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken lead in the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

Human remains found at a construction site on the D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club, 21 year old charged

Investigators are combing a construction site on the D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club after human remains were found on Monday July 17th.

Okotoks police said the 53 year old man and his 21 year old son in the 200 block of 90 Avenue S.E. that resulted in his death. The victim was then transported to the construction site where his body was found.

The victim’s son Zaineddin Al Aalak, 21, was arrested on Tuesday July 18th and has been charged with second-degree murder. Police said a weapon was found at the son’s residence.

The victims name has not been released by RCMP at this time.

Update: Two men found dead in Brossard park

Longueuil police are investigating after the bodies of two men were found on July 17th at aproximatly 10:50pm by a passerby in the entrance of Brossard’s Centre de plein air, on Chemin des Prairies.

Police said the victims ages 21 and 24 were found near a vehicle that belonged to one of the victims. The two victims were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. Police believe both victims died as a result of gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Longueuil police have identified the victims as Mohamed Odeh, 21, and Kevin Paul, 23.

Update: 26 year old Guelph man arrested on a first degree murder charge of a 54 year old woman

Guelph police police responded to an assistance call at a residence on Hasler Crescent  on July 18th at approximately 12:09am.

Police located the 54 year old woman, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding her death were deemed suspicious.

Investigators arrested a 26 year old male for first degree murder at 6:17am July 18th on a City of Guelph bus. Police are not seeking any other suspects.

Update July 19th
Guelph police have identified the victim as Mirella Roncato 54, and the accused as her 26 year old son Jacob Roncato.

Kimberly Ann O’Dea facing second degree murder charge in running down and killing her former partner

Sydney Mines police said the incident occurred at 7 a.m. July 14 on Oxford Avenue when a vehicle driven by Kimberly O’Dea 37 struck 28 year old Dana Marie Jessome.

Jessome was airlifted to a Halifax hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

O’Dea was arrested by police, without incident, shortly after the accident and is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of her former partner.

Montreal’s 13th homicide of 2017 – Man shot to death outside a wedding reception

Montreal police responded to several reports of an altercation outside a wedding reception in the borough of Saint-Leonard on July 16th at around 1:15am.

Police and emergency crews arrived at the scene to find a 29 year old man lying on the ground with a serious wound. Despite life saving efforts the victim died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. No arrests have been made at this time.

Charge laid in Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation murder

The remains of a 44 year old man had been found by RCMP major crime services on July 1st in Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation. Investigators said the body had been there for at least 10 days before being discovered. The deceased had not been reported missing.

Rylan McKay, 23 of Tootinaowaziibeng has been charged with second-degree murder. The name of the victim and cause of death have not been released. Police said the victim and the accused were known to each-other.

Winnipeg’s 12th homicide of 2017 – Man found covered in blood in Manwin Hotel lobby

On July 16, at approximately 10:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of an injured male, covered in blood in the front lobby of the Manwin Hotel in the 600 block of Main Street.

The unnamed man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Winnipeg police are treating the death as a homicide and ask that anyone with information that may assist investigators  call Winnipeg police at 204-986-6508.

Winnipeg police have identified the Victim as 50 year old John Blaine Flett.

18 year old Marcus Pierce Stabbed to death in Lakeshore

Police were called to the Belle River community in Lakeshore Ontario on July 13th at approximately 9:50pm on report of an altercation.

Police arrived at the scene in the area of Cooper Crescent and Lenore Street to find 18 year old Marcus Pierce suffering from a serious injury, as well as a 14 year old and 17 year old suffering from minor injuries.

Pierce was rushed to hospital where he died of a stab wound. A 17 year old male has been arrested and is facing a charges of second-degree murder and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

22 year old man dies after being stabbed in Achille-Fortier Park

Montreal police were called to Achille-Fortier Park at René Lévesque St. and 36th Ave. on July 7th at approximately 6:30 pm on report of a stabbing.

Police located the 22 year old male victim at the scene suffering from serious injuries. Emergency crews rushed the victim to hospital where he died of his injuries a few days later.

Police said a 16 year old has been arrested and is facing a second degree murder charge.
