Jarso Boku Ano dies from stab wound in Winnipeg

Emergency crews responded to report of an injured man at the block of 300 block of Kennedy Street on May 23 at approximately 3:15 pm.

22 year old Jarso Boku Ano was found outside of an apartment,  suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. Ano was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Update 2 men charged: Man dies after Downtown Montreal stabbing

Montreal police were called to Sainte-Catherine and Mackay at 11:40 pm on May 23, on report of a stabbing.

Police found a 23 year old man suffering from stab wounds to the upper body at corner of Crescent and Sainte-Catherine streets.

The man was transported to hospital where he died later that night.

3 men were taken into police custody, however no word on charges.

Update May 29th
Luc Armand Motty, 26, and Aimen Adnane, 23 have been charged with second degree murder. The victim’s name has not been released by police.

Janice Nicole Bryant dies in East Vancouver shooting

Vancouver police received reports of shots fired near East 7th Avenue and St. Catherines Street in East Vancouver on May 22nd just after 5pm.

33 year old Janice Nicole Bryant of Vancouver was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. Bryant was rushed to hospital where she died a short time later.

Police believe the shooting was targeted. No arrests have been made at this time.

Thunder Bay Police investigating death of a man on Marks Street

Thunder Bay Police responded to a 911 call reporting an injured male, on May 22 at approximately 4:50pm. Police arrived to the Marks Street location and found the man in serious condition.

Paramedics rushed the injured man to hospital where the victim died of his injuries.

Thunder Bay Police said the autopsy results confirmed the man died as a  result of the trauma received in an altercation just prior to being located.

Abdiqani Abshir Toronto’s 19th homicide

Torpnto Police were called to the area of Cavell Avenue/Pape Avenue on Monday May 23 at approximately 11:45 pm on report of a shooting.

Police located Abdiqani Abshir 24, suffering from a gunshot wound in the Gerrard Street East & Logan Avenue area. Abshir was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

During the investigation police also found a deceased woman at 96 Cavell Avenue. The cause of her death has yet to be determined. If police determine the death of the woman to be homicide she will be Toronto’s 20th homicide of 2017.

Montreal police officer charged with manslaughter in the death of Jean-Pierre Bony

On March 31, 2016, Jean-Pierre Bony 46 was allegedly shot in the head with a rubber bullet while trying to escape through a second story window during a drug raid at a building in North Montreal.

Bony was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

On May 24th 2017, Quebec’s Crown prosecutor’s office has decided to charge Officer Christian Gilbert of the Montreal Police with manslaughter.

Frederick John Dunn found dead in Edmonton. Police believe he had been dead for a week

Edmonton police were called to a home in the area of 135 Street and 124B Avenue on May 20th to check on the welfare of a resident. Police arrived at the home and found Frederick Dunn 67, dead.

Police said that Dunn’s body showed obvious signs of trauma. Staff Sgt Bill Clark of the Edmonton Police Service said “Our investigation leads us to believe that Mr. Dunn was killed sometime between Friday, May 12, 2017 and Saturday, May 13, 2017,”

The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Walter James Jenkins aka JJ in relation to the death of Dunn.

2 people shot to death outside of a Calgary Superstore

Very little information has been released in the double homicide in the Superstore paking lot at 48th Street and 130th Avenue on May 21st at around 8pm.

Calgary police received reports of a shooting just before 8pm. Officers arrived to find two men dead. Police have not released the names of the men, and said at least one of the victim’s were known to them.

Update: Beata Paciorek of Brampton found dead in a U-Haul

Peel police have said that 35 year old Beata Paciorek had been reported missing on May 19th, and was though to have been with several others in a U-Haul headed to Sudbury.

Police said that witnesses lead them to believe that Paciorek was murdered between Brampton and the Greater Sudbury Area.

On May 20th Sault Ste. Marie police arrested Mike Madill 28 & Amy MacDonald 37  The pair were charged with first degree murder under the direction of Peel Police.

On May 21 a warrant was issued to search the U-Haul, Paciorek’s body was found in a rear compartment.

Update May 30
A third person has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death on Beata Paciorek. Peel Homicide officers arrested Rick Snow of Brampton on May 30th, Snow will be held pending a bail hearing in Parry Sound on Wednesday May 31.
