Three charged – Michael Walter Bonin Found dead on a rural road in Hope BC

Upper Fraser Valley RCMP said officers responded to report of a body found on a rural road near Hope on April 20th. Police arrived at the scene to find Michael Walter Bonin 20, dead.

Police have not determined if Bonin was murdered where he was found, or if his body was moved after the fact.

Update January 16th 2018
Homicide investigators have not released the motive in Bonin’s death, however first degree murder charges have been laid against Joshua Fleurant, 20, Ryan Watt, 26, and Jared Jorgenson, 27.

Toronto Homicide #17 Catherine McNamee

Emergency crews were called to Bridgepoint Active Healthcare on February 26th where it has been alleged that Catherine McNamee 90, was pushed by another resident. McNamee fell and hit her head, and was sent to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on March 4th.

On March 5, Terry Shorter, 68, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with assault.

Police said on April 21, “after consulting with the Crown attorney’s office and forensic pathology unit, Terry Shorter,  was arrested and charged with manslaughter.”

Update: Pastor charged, Police determine the 2015 death of 3 month old Cyrus Nel a homicide

Emergency crews were called to the 600 block of Taradale Drive N.E at around 9pm on August 31 2015 on report of an injured infant.

Three month old Cyrus Nel was found in medical distress and was transported to hospital where he died a day later.

Update: April 24th, 2017

After a lengthy investigation, homicide investigators believe the fatal injuries inflicted on Cyrus Nel happened in the family home.

Police said that they have spoken to the suspects, however no explanation has been given regarding Nel’s injuries.

Update May 12th 2017
Daniel Nel, 31, a pastor at Rockyview Alliance Church has been charged with the second degree murder of his son Cyrus.

Dustin Horsethief dies from stabbing and gunshot injuries

Edmonton police were called to a disturbance in the area of 173 Street and 69 Avenue on April 15th at around 2pm.

On arrival Police found two men covered in blood stepping out of the building’s elevator. Both men were arrested and later charged.

Dustin Horsethief, 34, was found by police in a unit suffering from stab wounds from a machete as well as gunshot wounds. Horsetheif was taken off of life support April 21st.

Trevor Auger, 36, and Jason Hope, 38, are facing second degree murder charges.

Edmonton’s 14th homicide: Toddler Anthony Joseph Raine found dead near an Edmonton Church

Edmonton police were called to the area of 55 Avenue and Castledowns Road on April 21 at around 2:30 pm after a passerby reported a deceased child near The Good Shepard Church.

Police said the 17 month old  boy, Anthony Joseph Raine’s body was there three days before being located. An autopsy is scheduled for April 24th.

Joey Crier, 26, the father of the boy, and Tasha Mack, who is 25, have been charged with second degree murder, criminal negligence causing death, failing to provide necessities of life, and assault. Crier is also charged with assault causing bodily harm in the death of Anthony Raine.

Toronto Homicide 18: Leonard Pinnock shot to death in a parked car

Police said that Leonard Pinnock of Hamilton was waiting in his car for his friend at a strip mall at Dufferin St. and Bowie Ave on Saturday April 22 at around 9:30 am when he was shot.

Pinnock was found with apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police stated in a press release that several suspects were seen fleeing the area.

Murder charges laid in the suspicious death of Abbie Speir

Emergencey crews were called to a house fire in Yellow Grass Saskatchewan on April 20th. Abbie Speir was found dead in the home.

Police initially called the death suspicious however stated that a Homicide investigation had been launched, and an arrest had been made. Kevin Obina Okafor, 37, who was known to Speir has been charged with first degree murder.

Simon Grant dies following an armed robbery at Louisiana’s Bar B Que

Police were called to the Louisiana’s Bar B Que in La Ronge SK on April 15th at 10:55pm on report of a robbery.

Police found Simon Grant 64, the owner of the restaurant in serious condition. Grant was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries on April 17th.

Police said masked people entered Louisiana’s Bar B Que with a baseball bat and two handguns. They suspects assaulted Grant, and left with an undisclosed amount of money, in less than 5 minutes.
