Update: Ottawa man dies in early morning stabbing

Ottawa police are investigating their first homicide of 2017, after receving a medical call at around 5:30 am February 2nd.

Police arrived at the scene, a home at the 1100 block of Joseph Cyr Street to find a 24 year old man suffering from a life threatening stab wound.

The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The victim’s name will be released after his next of kin is notified.

Update February 3

The victim has been identified as Brian Boucher, 24. Boucher had been stabbed in the neck, and was sent to hospital for emergency surgery where he died from his injuries.

Police have issued a Canada wide warrant for the arrest of Awale Hussein 23 has been issued. Hussein is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of his friend Brian Boucher.

Update February 8th
Awale Hussein turned himself in to police on Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 9, 2017

Dameion McFarland dies in Toronto Shooting

Toronto police were called to an apartment building at 2999 Jane st, February 1st at around 10:15pm on report of a shooting.

Police and paramedics found Dameion McFarland, 35, suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Despite life saving efforts, McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vancouver police investigating Stanley Park homicide

Vancouver police are investigating after a body of a man was found between Second and Third beach on the Seawall. Police received the call just before 11 on February 1st.

The investigation is in it’s early stages, and more information will be added as it becomes available.

Update February 3

Vancouver police have identified the victim as 61 year old
Lubomir “Lubo” Kunik.  Mr Kunik had died at the scene from an apparent stab wound. Police are asking the public for help in solving the murder. They ask anyone that has any information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The death of is Lubomir “Lubo” Kunik is the second Vancouver homicide this year. The 2017 Vancouver homicide victim list can be found here.

Update January 11th 2018

29-year-old Tyler Anthony Lagimodiere was charged with the first degree murder of Lubomir Kunik on January 9th.

Charges laid in the death of Jordan Pede

Jordan Pede 24, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in Strathcona Island Park on Dec. 31. Due to the extent of his injuries, Pede was air lifted to Calgary hospital where he died around 11 days later.

Police believe the death of Pede was a transaction gone wrong.

Luke Michael Boxell, 21, of Medicine Hat turned himself in on January 25th. Boxell has been charged with second degree murder.

Police are still searching for a second suspect. Leonard Terrance Robert Beaulieu, is wanted for second degree murder in the death of Pede.

Beaulieu is decribed as 5’10” and 187 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Tattoos, K Money on his left hand,  G Team on the right hand, along with bones, a dollar sign, and a skull on his right forearm.

18 year old Ali Rizeig is Toronto’s 5th homicide of 2017

Police were called to the area of Gerrard and Sumach streets area, on January 30th at around 9:23pm on report of gunshots. Police found 18 year old Ali Rizeig in the Regent Park area suffering from a gunshot wound.

Rizeig was rushed to hospital where he passed away a short time later.
