Update: Shoaib Asakzai, 25 dies from a gunshot wound in Toronto’s 11th homicide of 2017

Toronto police and emergency crews were called to the area of Thorncliffe Park Drive near Overlea Boulevard on February 25th at around 6:30 pm on report of gunshots.

Paramedics located the victim who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police have identified the victim as Shoaib Asakzai, male, 25 of Toronto as the victim.

 

UPDATE Estranged Husband Charged – Police investigating a suspicious death of Nichole Clifford in Wainwright

Police responded to a check on welfare to a Wainwright home on February 24th. When police entered the home at 1206 8 Avenue, they found 31 year old Nichole Clifford dead.

The Major crimes unit of Edmonton has taken over the case.

Police have asked that anyone who may have been out walking or driving in that area between Thursday February 23  in the evening and Friday morning, or anyone with information to contact them at 780-842-4461.

Update October 20th
Robert Dean Clifford 35, was arrested on October 19th and charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of his estranged wife.

Update: Two murder charges laid on a minor in the Mariposa Township house fire

Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to a disturbance at the Quaker Road youth facility, in Mariposa Township, On February 24th  at around 4pm. When officers arrived the structure was engulfed in flames.

After the fire was contained police said the home was being treated as a crime scene, as one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased will not be released.

A youth has been charged with second degree murder.

Update:

A second victim, an employee has died. The identities of the two victims have not been named as of yet.

Hussam Ahmad Ismal shot to death inside a vehicle

Calgary police were called to the area of 2 Avenue N.E., and Centre Street N. on February 23rd at around 4:3 am, on report of a man in medical distress.

Police arrived to find a vehicle riddled with bullet holes and Hussam Ahmad Ismal 31, dead inside.

Police have not named any suspects at this time.

Dallas Nelson shot and killed Windsor’s first homicide of 2017

Windsor police were called to a home in the 700 block of University Avenue East on February 21st at around 5pm on reports of gunshots. Police arrived at the scene to find 19 year old Dallas Nelson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Nelson was rushed to hospital where he died from his stomach wound.

At around 10:45pm police visited an apartment in the 8700 block of Riverside Drive east and arrested 45 year old David Formosa. Police said Nelson and Formosa were known to each other.

Suspicious death of Delbert Sainnawap being investigated by police.

Police have opened a full investigation after the suspicious death of Delbert Sainnawap 34, from Mishkeegogamang First Nation.

Sainnawap visited Mishkeegogamang Health Centre on Thursday February 23 for an injury he had sustained on February 21st. Sainnawap was then airlifted to Thunder Bay Hospital where he died of his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for February 25th.

Dustin Wayne Monture Dies in hospital from a gunshot wound to the head

Dustin Wayne Monture, 27, was taken to West Haldimand General Hospital by the homeowner, after being found outside a home on Tuscarora Road in Ohsweken on February 21st at around 4 pm.

The homeowner thought he had been assaulted because of the head wound. Monture was then airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital where he had a CT scan and they discovered he had been shot.

Monture was declared brain dead at around 2:15 on February 22 and died of his injuries that same night.

Update: 45 year old woman found dead in a Burnaby home

Burnaby RCMP responded to a report of a woman needing medical attention at a home on the 7900-block of 18th Avenue, February 23rd just after 1 pm.

The 45 year old woman was located by police and was pronounced dead at the scene. a 47 year old man was taken into custody by police.

The investigation is in it’s early stages, more information will be added as it it becomes available.

Update February 25th

Parveen Maan 47,  has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in the death of his wife Parveen Kumari Maan. The couple’s two children were not at home at the time of the attack.

Terrance Logan Farnham charged with manslaughter in the death of a 50 year old man

Edmonton police were called to an address near 85 Street and Jasper Avenue on February 16th after a 911 call was placed about a man in medical distress.

Police located a 50 year old man, who had extensive injuries, the result of an alleged physical altercation. The victim was sent to hospital where he died on February 18th.

Terrance Logan Farnham, 38, has been charged with manslaughter in Edmonton’s 7th homicide of 2017.
