Man found dead in an Edmonton park identified as Christopher Fawcett

Edmonton Police responded to a call of an injured man on October 22 at around 8:30pm in Alfred H. Savage Centre in Whitemud Park.

On arrival police found 19 year old Christopher Fawcett dead. An autopsy confirmed that Fawcett died of a stab wound.

Police arrested a 21 year old man, however no charges have been laid at this time.

The death of Christopher Fawcett marks Edmonton’s 35th homicide of 2016. The 2016 Edmonton homicide victims list is available here.

Two charged in Wasagamack First Nation homicide

Island Lake RCMP responded to a report of a body found on October 20th at around 1:30pm near a lake in the community.

Police arrived to find the 32 year old man dead. Police said his name will not be released.

Orien Harper 23, and Harmony Mason 18 have been arrested and are facing second degree murder charges.

Mohamed Omer found shot in a crashed vehicle

Police were called to the area of Dixon Road and Kipling Avenue at around 12:30 am on October 24th on report of a vehicle that had crashed into a house on Windsor Road.

Police arrived to find Mohamed Omer 23, inside the SUV, Paramedic’s said Omer was suffering from a single bullet wound to the torso. Omer was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Update: Man shot to death in Mississauga

Mississauga police were called to the area of Queen St South and Beech st on several reports of a disturbance at around 4am October 22.

Police found the man that had been shot outside of Streetsville Kinsmen Seniors Centre, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update October 23

Police have identified the victim as 23 year old Deshawn Brandon Nicholson of Toronto.

Update: Joshua Briere stabbed to death in Ottawas 16th homicide

Emergency crews were called to 1098 Clyde Ave at around 2:30 am on October 22 on report of an injured man.

Paramedics found Joshua Briere 26, outside of the home, suffering from multiple stab wounds, and rushed him to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said the victim is known to police.

Update October 25th

Brandon Jack Ethier 27, had been arrested and is facing a second degree murder charge in the death on Briere.

Former inmate charged in assault causing death

Emmanuel Blowes-Serrata 21, a former inmate of the Maplehurst correctional facility in Milton, was arrested at his home September 28th, and charged with manslaughter in the May 14th death of an inmate.

Police said Blowes-Serrata assaulted the un-named inmate at the correctional facility on May 5. The inmate was transferred to hospital where he died on May 14.

A man with the same name and age as Emmanuel Blowes-Serrata was linked to the beating death of Madad Kenyi in 2015, however he maintained his innocence in the case.

Christian Saarah, dead after Etobicoke drive by shooting

Police said shots were fired at a parked car on Lexington Avenue, Tuesday October 18th just before 6pm.

Police arrived to find two men with life threatening gunshot wounds. Christian Saarah 28, and his 24 year old brother were rushed to hospital where the Christian Saarah died of his injuries. The 24 year old man is still in critical condition at the hospital.

Police believe the shooting was targeted.

High Ranking Hells Angels member Robert Green murdered in Langley

Langley police responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance on October 16th ar around 10:30 am.  Police located the victim, who was severely injured and identified him as Robert Green 56, of Burnaby.

Despite life saving efforts Green died at the scene. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Police said Robert Green, is believed to be a “well-established” member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang. Police believe the attack was targeted.

Update – October 18th

Jason Francis Wallace, 27 was arrested during a road side stop in Langley and charged with the second degree murder of Green. Police said that Wallace has been linked to gangs but did not disclose his involvement.

Jason Wallace was out on bail for drug trafficking charges that he faces with Green’s cousin Leonard Pelletier.
