UPDATE – Stephen Russell dies from stab wound to the neck

Toronto Police were called to a rooming house at 81 Charles St. East at around 9:15 pm on July 29th on report of a stabbing. Police arrived to find 58 year old Stephen Russell with a serious stab wound to the neck.

Russell was declared diseased by paramedics.The death of Russell marks Toronto’s 40th homicide of 2016.

No suspects have been named at this time.

**UPDATE** August 23
Kitten Keyes, 49, was arrested  and charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of Stephen Russell.

Sean Christopher Kelly , Surrey’s latest victim

Surrey Mounties responted to reports of gunfire and an injured man on Antrim Road at around 8pm on July 31.  Police arrived to find 27 year old Sean Christopher Kelly severely injured.

Kelly was rushed to hospital where he died a shot time later.

Police have not released the cause of death or any suspects at this time.

Marielle Portelance found dead in the woods

Marielle Portelance’s body was found near Cook Lake by a resident of the area at around 7 in the evening on July 29th.

Portelance 30 lived in the town of Hawkesbury Ontario,  and found in Grenville-Sur-La-Rouge Quebec around 24 km from her home town.

Autopsy proved that Portelance’s death was a homicide, however investigators are not releasing how she died at this time.

August 19:
Marie-Josée Castilloux, 39, and Mario Lalonde 32, have been arrested and are facing charged in the death of Marielle Portelance.

Hamilton at 11 homicides after an apartment fire claimed the life of Marilyn Mitton.

66 year old Wayne Bell is facing first degree murder charges after 65 year old Marilyn Mitton was pulled from her 7th floor unit without vital signs after a fire broke out at 200 Jackson st west early afternoon on July 31st.

Marilyn Mitton was rushed to the Hamilton General hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police said the suspect and the victim were known to each-other.

Donald Doucette kicked to death in Edmonton

Emergency crews were called to Lucky 97 Market on July 31 at around 4:45 pm, on report of an injured man.

Police found 51 year old Donald Doucette in the back alley of the supermarket. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

An autopsy report revealed Doucette died of abdominal trauma.

Security guard Sheldon Russell Bentley 35, allegedly kicked Doucette in the abdomen, and stole $20 from him, before returning back to work.

Bentley was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
