*Update* Charges laid: Partial torso found in a bag behind Toronto Butcher shop

Toronto police said employees at Charlie’s Meat and Seafood found the remains at around 11:30am on April 19th.  The remains were found inside a rubber garbage bin behind the shop.

The partial torso found was not in an advanced state of decomposition, leaving the coroner to believe it had only been there for a few hours.  Police said the remains are of a light skinned woman.

An autopsy is underway, authorities hope it help solve the mystery of what might have happened to the victim.

**UPDATE**

Police have released the identity of the woman whose partial torso was found behind a Toronto butcher shop.  The woman, Melissa Cooper 30 of Toronto was reported missing several weeks before her body was found.

Albert Ian Ohab 38, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with one count of indignity to a dead body.

Police have charged Albert Ian Ohab with second degree murder in the death on Melissa Cooper.

UPDATE: 20 year old woman found dead on Cote First Nation

RCMP were called to Cote First Nation in the early hours of August 13th on report of an unresponsive female.  The 20 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted on August 15th proved the suspicious death to be a homicide.

UPDATE- September 2

Morgan Cote a 34 year old man from Cote First Nation has been charged with second degree murder in the death of the 20 year old woman.

Joseph Sarikakis, victim of a Montreal homicide

Montreal police received a call of multiple gunshots  at around 11:30 am on Thursday. Joseph Sarikakis 45 was found injured while in his car on August 18th in the Montreal borough of Ahuntsic Cartierville.  He was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries.

Bullet casing were found at the scene, however police would not say if the victim was shot.

Two men ages 25 and 27 have been arrested in connection with the death of Joseph Sarikakis

Sarikakis was known to police and had a lengthy criminal record.

**UPDATE**-Eugene Allan Harris found dead in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police have not offered much information on the death of Eugene Allan Harris 62. Winnipeg police said they responded to a call on August 16th at around 10am on Bannerman Avenue. Police arrived to find Eugene Harris dead, and foul play is suspected.

No further information will be released at this time.

Update- August 21st

Vincent Morin  31, has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Harris.  Police said the Autopsy showed injuries that were consistent with an assault.

Gurdev “Dave” Hair identified at the victim of the Abbotsford homicide

Abbotsford police received a report of shots fired on Crown Court August 17th at around 9pm. The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police believe the attack was targeted.

The IHIT (Integrated Homicide Investigation Team)  reported on August 18th that the victim had been identified as Gurdev “Dave” Hair 45.

A man by the same name was wanted in a 2012 Kidnapping and torture of a 44 year old Mission BC man.

**UPDATE**Hit and run that took the life of Steven Doyle, being investigated as a homicide

On Monday August 15th at around 5:45 pm, Steven Doyle, 27, was deliberately struck by a vehicle on the west side of George Street, The driver of a blue Dodge Caravan drove on to the side walk and hit Doyle.

Steven Doyle was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are looking for the driver. He is said to be slim,  between 5’8 to 5’10”, with dark-brown shoulder length hair and glasses.

Ayubullo Mohammad-Daud 21, was arrested today and charged with first degree murder in the death of Steven Doyle.

Omar Rashid-Ghader shot to death inside Ottawa nightclub

Omar Rashid-Ghader 33 was the victim of a fatal shooting at Sentral Nightclub in Ottawa’s ByWard Market August 14th. An officer that was near the scene saw people running out of the club and saying that somebody had been shot.

Paramedics arrived at the club and tried to treat Rashid-Ghader for multiple gunshot wounds, however he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking Mustafa Ahmed 33 in connection to the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 613-236-1222 extension 5050.
